What offset would work on a 90 Miata that would fill out the wheel wells, but not rub? I was looking at wheels recently, and would like to understand all option that will fit. I was looking to upgrade from a 185/55-15 to a 205/45-16. Anyone see a problem with this? The're roughly the same diameter. Any impact on cornering, good or bad? I know another set of 15" would be much lighter...

Go with 6UL's from 949 Racing. Great looking wheel, light weight, good price and can get them 7, 8 or 9 inches wide. Other than that, I would stay with the 15" RPF1 but are expensive.

+1
i went with the 949 racing wheels in 15x8. awesome set.
but lighter wheels dont really make as big of a difference as you would think. not for the standard driver. GRM recently did a test to see the difference between 3-4 lbs a corner in wheels and the times really didn't change.
you shave 5+ lbs a corner you probably will feel a difference. but the 949's or TRM wheels 3 lbs a corner isnt going to make that much of a difference.
id say stay with the 15" 949 or trm's vs the enkeis' and use the saved money on a brake upgrade. like swapping the 94+ brakes in as seen here
