TPMS, yay or nay? I'm leaning no. TPMS sucks in the winter as it is, the only downside is the stupid light. Extra cost would be $100 on top of that. If they'd do it for say, $50, I'd think about it.
So far, Discount and Tires Plus won't bolt the new setup on the car without TPMS. Not a big deal, as I can swap in the garage.

I bought a set of FoMoCo TPMS sensors for dirt cheap on eBay that I installed with my setup. They work just fine. Actually, with Ford's new TPMS system you don't even need to program them for the wheels, as the car automatically senses them. Or at least my car did- as did countless others on focusst.org.
The way I looked at it was they were dirt cheap for the feature and if/when I eventually sell my setup, its a good selling point for future owners as well. Also my TPMS light hasn't come on at all this week, even in the extreme low temperatures. Although I also check my tire pressure religiously. YMMV.

I chose not to use TPMS. It was going to be $195 extra from TireRack plus whatever it costs to get them calibrated at the dealer. Only downside is the light being on all winter but I dealt with it with my MS3 and it's not a big deal to me on the new car either. It's a small light that's off to the side so not even that annoying.
I got the alert that nobody will install the tires without it but I didn't care since I had them shipped to my house already mounted and balanced and I put them on myself.

Decision was made for me, they didn't have the sensors in stock. I'll deal with the light being on. Now I just need to put them on the car.

Re: Snows: Dedicated wheels or swap tires?
I love my dedicated winter and summer wheels on my 05 Mazda 3S-- 18s with Kuhmo Ecstas for summer and fall; 16s with Bridgestone Blizzaks for winter and spring.
If anyone needs a second set of 17" Mazda wheels for your winter tires, I'll selling my original factory set, in the ForSale/Wanted section.
