OK silly question I am sure but then again I never pretended to know all that much about cars. One of my tires has a wonderful bubble in the sidewall and needs to be replaced. My options are to buy the exact same tire for like $200 or take the 2 brand new tires of the same size off of my other car. The only thing is, they tires I would be taking off my Beetle and puting on my 8 are Z rated where as the preformance tires curently on the 8 are only R.

Here's my question, if I put the Z's on the 8, would it be better to have them on the rear axel or the front? I imagine the rear for the power traction would be nice but would they be at all beneficial up front for the cornering? Any input would be appreciated.

I wouldn't think it would make a difference. Just put the ones with better thred in the back.

Probably rear. If the Z rated tires are softer, which the treadwear rating can be an indicator of (but it's not quite as black/white as that), then put those in the rear. Stickier tires on the rear keeps the rear tires behind you and keeps you from wrecking.

It shouldn't matter. Those ratting have to do with speed and not cornering or traction abilities.
