18" stock rims on my 2006 Mazda 6s
Here are my top two picks, please let me know what you think, or if you have another good tire in mind. I need all-season because I am not at a point where I can purchase two seperate sets. Hopefully next summer...
Goodyear Eagle F1 A/S-C
(Ultra High Performance All-Season) $154.00 per tire
Pirelli PZero Nero M&S PINNA
(Ultra High Performance All-Season $136.00 per tire.
Opinions needed for 6s tires
I too was looking at the F1's but their tread wear is what swayed me another direction. something like 30k if that?....I have some triple treads on my
civic which is a 80k mile tire, we have maybe 30k on them and they are done...not sure of your driving style but I wouldn't expect them to last more
than a year....I could be wrong...as I often am... ;)

Sumitomo HTRZ II, or III's. I have tracked them on my S4 and they are a great dry and wet tire. Great life on them too. Cheap as all hell. I've spent over $300 per tire in the past and wasn't as happy with any of them as much as the Sumi's.
Not many people know, but Sumitomo makes the GY F1's for them.
Tire rack has them.

The triple treads are a good tire- for a boring type of car/driver. They certainly aren't in the UHPAS category the OP posted with. I'd probably go with the Sumis to save money so you can get a proper set of winter wheels/tires.
And here's a hint- search ebay and craigslist for used Mazda wheels or other wheels that will fit. And you should be able to go down to a 16" wheel if you want. Problem with 16" wheels is the availability of 16" tires though. 17" wheels might allow for cheaper 17" winter tires. Just a suggestion.

Thats a very good idea... I'll look into it. Thanks!

Yea, um.... Good luck on that.
You can't have your cake and eat it too when it comes to tires. Trust me on this, the Sumi's are a higher speed rating than your car can go, and they will last longer than any others you have in mind.
If you're wanting a good all season, their HTR+ kicks ass too. I have run those also.
I didn't mention this; I am an aggressive driver and I like speed. I also drive a lot, so I need something that will last but has high performance ratings. Thanks![/b]

That sounds like the best idea... I would like to visualize what everyone is talking about. I am pretty sure my tires can last another 100 miles
I have Fuzion ZRi's on my Mazda5. They are 18 inch and ran me about $100/tire. You can check them out at the BBQ Saturday.[/b]

Ah, yeah, I do. Lets just say I don't like being last. Also, I drive HWY 93 5 days a week (about 65 miles a day).

I am liking the Sumitomo HTR's ... not only the price, but they seem to be getting pretty good reviews. Plus- that way I can get snow tires in a few months.
