Postby janefisher » Wed Sep 09, 2009 9:14

Hello, I have a 2008 Mazda 3I 2.0. Which these two tires company would you think is best for Denver Colorado driving.

Driving style: 50/50 Aggressive

The Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max

or Michelin Destiny

Michelin rank as BEST and Goodyears as BETTER according to discount tires.

I would like something that is good tracksion in snow and dry and quite

Thank you

if applicable I try to read the reviews of people who bought either type of tires and commented on them at Discount Tire. You can also get user opinions at tirerack.com.
I disregard most of the reviews where people have less than 5-10k miles of wear.

and welcome.

I would look into the Eagle GT. It's a high performance all season. Several members on here have those tires and seem to like them. My Goodyear distributor says it's an awesome tire. I can give you a price quote if you like.

Thank you very much for all the information and i will look into the Eagle GT. I call most of discounttire yesterday and they say that 2008 mazda 3 is a H rating ties so that is the min. speed i should go with. For sure Michelin Destiny is out because that is T rating speed.

Go look up Dave at Coloradoland Tire around the southwest plaza area, he took care of me when i got my GT's as well as I'm sure other members on here. He's just a good guy in general.

When I purchased my car it had brand new Hercules raptis WR1 tires on it. Ultra high performace tire, W rated tire. So far they have been VERY well on dry and wet pavement. There was standing water on the highway that I hit at a speed I shouldn't have, and they car didn't budge.

I was impressed with the wet traction they have, and will be looking forward to testing there snow/ice driving in the near future.
