Local hub spacer source?

Postby movovr » Tue Apr 05, 2011 9:14

Does anyone know of a local shop (Denver metro) for hub spacers? I bought a GTI VR6 and I'm curious to see what my Tenzo's will look like on it...but they need to fit first.

The VW hubs are like 57mm and Tenzo center bore is 71.3mm

Do you mean hubcentric rings so the hub bores will align? Or actual spacers that decrease offset?

If you just need hubcentric ring you can mount the wheels and drive under 60mph without issue. But if you still want 'em, I picked some up at Discount Tire once.

I just grabbed some off ebay, didn't think the chain shops would carry them. How much did you pay for yours Dave?

IIRC around $20 bucks for a set of 4, but just the cheap plastic kind. The plastic hubcentric rings break but they're cheap to replace. The tin or aluminum one last a long time but they can fuse themselves to the hub if they don't get removed frequently.

Thanks guys. For some reason I didn't think they could be bought at the chain shops. I'll check with them.

Or call a couple tire stores, like this one. These are the people who know where to get them if they don't already have 'em.

For now yes. But I'll be selling the speed3. The GTI is pretty vanilla right now. Still pretty fun to drive (VR6 + 6 Speed).
Plans are:
1. Tint (OCD)
2. See what my black wheels look like on it.
3. Catback
4. Drop it
