Replaced Driving Lights

DRLs, parking lights...whatever they are. The 194s in the headlight housing. I hate the stock, dishwater-colored lights that don't match my HIDs, so when one burned out Monday, instead of using one of the leftover 194s I have in the garage (Ssssshhhh...), I ordered hyperwhite incandescents from autolumination.com. Would have gone LED, but supposedly the headlight housing is too hot for them.

Here's the result, with stock on the left (passenger) and Hyperwhite on the right (driver):

Just DRLs:

With HIDs On:

Total cost: $6.48 shipped.

Now...I need to replace those nasty, ineffective fog lights with some YELLOW ones....

Much cleaner. That always bugged me with the RX8, too. Good job!

Hmmm...I'll look into that. Thanks.

Looks awesome! I wish the 3's had those. The 3's have an obvious spot for them, but it's not open nor is there any wiring for them.

Not to steal away from Eric, but if you want yellow bulbs for your fogs, i definitely suggest Hoen Endurance Fog lamps. They are not piss yellow, and are meant to be the same yellow as used by race cars in ALMS ect. I love mine.

So Stealth, is this what you got? The "clear"?

I like it. Image

Thanks Chris. I like the way yours turned out a lot, so I think I might bite some style points from you. =)

I'm on the fence about also getting some new H11 fog lamps in "JDM Yellow". I've always been a subscriber to form following function, and I know that yellow light is preferred for ultra foggy conditions - I'm just not sure how I'm going to like it, honestly.

EDIT: Oh yeah!... There's also that whole "install" part of it. It looks like our fog lamps might be a tad bit tricky to get to. (?)

Egh, screw it. Ordered them. The 194s and the H11s. My ADD kicked in...

LOL yeah, the fogs look like a real BEOTCH to get in there. Let me know how that goes...might determine whether or not I do it that way, or go the Laminix route.

Watch... I'm going to try and put them in. It's going to be too hard. And I'm going to post up, trying to sell them to you. :D

What's the process for the MS6 fog replacement? For the MS3 it's pretty simple, you just have to jack up the front and take a few tabs off holding the undertray and swap them out.

From what I've read, you take the bezel off first from the front, and it's a simple reach-around procedure.

Well... you know... As simple as any other sort of reach-around procedure might be, anyway. (?)

haha

That sounds strange and way to complicated for such a simple job. Have you found any how-to's on changing them out? I'm curious to see the steps.
