This should be helpful. This is a nice setup and allows for a large amount of trunk space to be used. If I had the time I and know how I would have done this instead of the box I built.

You can make one be a dummy. Throw the amp on the other side in a similar mold.

This guy made one in the floor but I don't like.

I think I'm gonna take a wild step and make a fiberglass sub enclosure for my 8 but I don't really have the necessary tools such as a dremmel. Any help?[/b]

I just moved, but my shop will be operational in a couple of weeks. And I'm in the springs, so we can work on it together so you don't have to spend a ton of cash. I have been a first class certified installer since 1993, and I am a graduate of the Alpine Institute of Technology, so your car will be in good hands. Here is a link to my web page and a few pics of older project cars. The blue impala was a demo car for Infinity. follow the project cars from past years link.
I also get gear for wholesale prices so you don't have to pay retail, therefore getting more bang for the buck.

This offer goes for all club members by the way...just PM me if you need help.

Hello everyone,

well surfing the web I found this place that has boxes already made for the 6, rx8
you can get a 10" or 12" box for the 6 and a 10" box for the rx-8.
I called then and ...they are made with fiberglass but have a wooden ring to mount the sub.
Thinking about going this route...thoughts anyone? Looks like all the boxes are 299.00

The only downside I see is the mazda6 12" box is only 1 cu ft where
as the jl specs recommend a sealed enclosure be 1.25 cu ft ...any issues with this?

$300 eh,, is that with or with out shipping? I would say ask around locally first... Some shops around here like Cartoys at parkmeadows might be able to do it for the same price and you could have it a lil more custom done to your likings..

I agree, too expensive and looks like it was just stuck in there.

Car Toys Park Meadows quoted me 1200 to do the same....I said no. The price does not include shipping....that is more or less
what I would want from a custom box tho...

I looks like it fits pretty well, given CT's price it is a steal...trying to figure out if I should keep my jl sub or get something
different, differ sub means different enclosure volume....
