Not sure if this belongs here, but I've got a question.
I recently purchased a Monster (pretty good transmitter for your ipod/iphone/any mp3 player). It works well, but it seems there's a issue causing it to fade out, or kill my (right) speaker. I have to move the actual cord around in order for it to work properly. It's getting annoying, esp when I want to put my phone down and just drive. The device is in tact, with no visible wires, so I can't explain what is going on. Anyone have an idea? (this happens both in either my RX-7 or Mazda 3).

Doesn't need to be. It pretty much replaces the channels of 88.1,3,5,7,9 and 107.3,5,7,9, but it is cutting ou ton the right side, and it doesn't make sense, as it's just a transmitter..

What I mean is the transmitter in stereo mode trying to produce the sounds separately for left and right side when it's part of the song? This should help explain what I'm talking about.

I don't really know how to describe it perfectly. But it sounds like a mono/stereo issue. I know my cheap FM transmitter I use for my iPod has the ability to switch between mono and stereo.
To me, since you say it's the right side that isn't getting audio, it sounds like an issue with the device trying to transmit in stereo mode and the sound for the channel that plays on the right side isn't getting transmitted because something is wrong with the device. I bet if you can switch the transmitter into mono mode if it is in stereo and try again, the issue will go away. Which model adapter do you have?

Oh. I will. I have to have *some* music in the 7, the stereo doesn't work, haha. There's no separate mono/stereo on this. I'll take a photo in a few and post it.

This guy:

My old transmitter worked like a charm
Because it just went in the headphone jack. This one is usb only.
Edit: of course when I post about the issue the stupid thing starts working, probably not for long.
Sent from my iPhone.

Sounds like a problem with the cord that's plugging into the phone. The 3.5mm cord I use to plug my phone into my Miata's stereo has a bad connection too and you have to jiggle it sometimes to get both channels to work. You should try a new cord. I know I need to get another one just haven't gotten around to it yet.

maybe consider getting a xcar link adapter thing, super easy to put in, plugs right into the back of the stock unit, i have it going into the glove box, it also charges your iphone/pod, and you can control songs through the steering wheel...

It's one piece....
It's the side of the USB connector to the phone I have to move around to
Make it not fade in and out
