Damn that looks really good. I think I'm gonna get a Valentine 1 sometime soon lol.

Not trying to be biased with this, but with everything I've read, the 9500 does seem to do quite well compared to the V1, and the extra features do likely outweigh any disadvantage it has. You get the red light camera, speed camera, and speedtrap alerts as well. Plus, it locks out false alerts automatically (after passing the same signal in the same location 3 times), or you can lock it out yourself. This means fewer false alarms compared to the V1, more safety from different fine-causing pains in the ###, and near identical detection. Videos and reviews online show the Valentine picking up a signal slightly sooner than the escort, but I don't think the difference is drastic enough to be able to claim that a V1 would save you from the same ticket you would get with a 9500ix. That's just my take on things. It's why I went with the 9500 and not the V1 :)

I think this thread is about the frame that Alain very awesomely jerry-rigged, not about which radar detector is better...
