So.. before the weather got crappy, I took my car out (Henry met up with me), and did some shots..... enjoy. I need pointers on *what* to do to make my photos better.

I also wanted to show him cave of the winds. I think this area would be a good photoshoot for a end-cruise situation if we ever travel back into COS.
By the way, a sexy AE86
Hehe.. The last few photos I decided to be naughty on a dirt road. Was fun <3
as always, more can be found here, with HQ ones too...

What settings do you use on your camera? Do you stay on the green setting? The reason I ask is some of them are out of white balance. One thing you may want to try is opening up your aperture as much as you can to try a shallower DOF and see if you like the way that looks. I'm not a big fan of angle pictures, but that has nothing to do with anything but me. I'm absolutely not a pro, but look out for distractions... The dealer decal on the car, stuff in the background that looks like it's growing out of the car (like how some people have a light pole behind the car, looks like it's growing out of the car), your reflection in the car, stuff like that.

@dommo: I was using between I think shutter - I don't like using Auto, it's doesn't fit me. I was also using I think ISO 400-800.. On some of them as to why the WB was off was because I was changing it around in my settings to see what it could do. I've tried to change the F-Stop, but it seems it either doesn't make a difference, or I don't hold my camera still long enough before it blurs out.
The reflections really don't bother me too much, if it wasn't the other person, it's going to be me, or the car behind it.
Oh, how I would love to get taught a few tricks in person

It's like the pin-stripe though. It's been on there since I purchased her back in '05. To get that off would cause more issues than anything ha ha.

Well you're definitely doing the right thing by staying off the green setting! Just keep messing around with different settings. Try using the aperture priority setting, and set the aperture to the lowest number your lens will allow. Then try the same picture setting the aperture at a higher number so you can see the difference your camera will give you. Eventually you'll feel the kit lens isn't going to cut it for you and you'll want something new. I'd recommend getting a 50/1.8 or whatever they have for Nikon. I have a 50/1.4 for my Pentax, but you might find a 1.8 or 2.0 for your camera. That should be a fun lens for you. Or maybe get a really wide angle lens, which makes a lot of good car pics that I see.
Not really photography related, but when making a post with a lot of pictures, you might want to consider the people who are surfing the site from a phone, or from a computer that doesn't have fast internet. Posts like this one can take a long time to load and be painful for some readers. Photobucket has an option to allow you to post the thumbnails that link to the larger size photo. The last thing you want is for someone to get frustrated with a thread that's taking a long time to load, and then not get to see your pictures. Just a thought.

But at the same time it's frustrating to have to click a thumbnail on every picture to see the full size version when you are on a computer with a good connection and the time to load all the pictures isn't a big deal. I guess either way you're going to frustrate some people, heh.
