f/s the 626 turbo 4door:6ff4efab:

Postby Dumbizzle » Sat Apr 23, 2011 9:14

ok so I have had time to cool off and I have decided I do wanna keep the car I love the car and it was over the top angering to do the whole head gasket job and pretty much replace every old thing on the car for new just to get it all together and find coolant pouring out of the intake mani and coolant in the oil again! this tells me the jack A of a previous owner sold it to me with a cracked head or block. so now Im on the hunt for a swap any advice of maybe a diff motor that I could drop in or if anybody has an f2t for sale please let me know. I have heard of fe3's on youtube putting out like 500 horse in these cars but I have no idea what that motor is out of.

head gasket problems can be solved if you put a rotary in it lol

it can still be mounted transverse. which makes it a whole lot easier.

ah, yea no heads either for rotaries lol

buut the head on an na looks about the same to me. i do think its the same exact engine just with a turbo. i mean 2.2l f2 and the turbo is a 2.2l f2t

like the sr20de and sr20det

thats what I was thinkin I may do a bit of research on it first though I know the distributers are diff but maybe i can swap my cam out with an na one because I was told that might be different and the valve springs but the cam gear is exactly the same so I cant see there being a big variation in anything

you should look for compatible engines. But first I would open up the engine and see what you need. Maybe it's fixable. That way you save some time and money. Good luck
