Eh. In my opinion, its worth a premium because it looks to be in good shape as far as paint/body, and it doesn't look like its been modded. 10k miles is actually a warning to me. You still would have to do everything you would for any other car of this age, even more since its likely sat for extended periods. 10k miles in 20 years is only 500 miles a year...

How many oil changes were done? Coolant flushes? Brake fluid flushes? Everything rubber needs to be replaced (vacuum lines, coolant lines, probably fuel lines). I'd inspect the fuel tank for rust inside. Any signs of critters having lived in the engine bay? Hows the engine compression? These are all things I would scrutinize and expect to have to dump money into the instant I bought it.

I'm not sure its worth $25K, but I'm trying to keep myself from making an offer.

$25k is pretty fair. FD's are appreciating in value since so few were made, and not many are left, especially in stock condition with low miles. There was a silver FD on eBay with 50k miles asking nearly $30,000...doesn't mean it's worth it but I believe it may have sold.

With that kind of mileage, it's one of the lowest mileage FD's in the country for sure. Yes, it may mean things need to be serviced, but what FD doesn't have service items? These cars aren't for the faint of heart. Lower mileage is worth the premium. It is also a highly desirable color combo of SSM with black leather interior.

I would say engine compression numbers would help. It's surely the factory engine with the mileage, and rotaries don't like to sit so if it has strong compression (110+ psi) then I'd say $25,000 is a very good price. If you bought it, kept it pristine and mileage low, I think it will be worth over $30k in 5-10 years.

On a serious note to the seller; are there any known problems? Smoking? Cold or hot start issues? 5th gear grind? I'm assuming since it has leather it's the Touring package, does it have the Bose system (but it doesn't have the wear wiper...hmm)? Does the CD player work (if so, that's amazing)? Rear end clunking signaling worn pillowball bushings? I only ask because I may know someone who could be very interested. Wish it was me, I've been thinking of getting a "collector FD"- a low mileage, stock, clean, desirable color combo car to appreciate in value.

^^^ Touring model but no sunroof? I thought a sunroof was what made it a touring package?
nice car, but 20k price point is more realistic. Only a true rotary nut would buy this car at 25k over a used 370, g37, vette, 'stang, evo, et cetera.

Didn't even notice the lack of sunroof, so you're right, it couldn't be a Touring. I was pretty sure in 93 they only had Base, Touring, and R1 models, so it looks to be a Base model (no sunroof, no rear wiper, no Bose) with leather seats? Kind of an interesting combo.

I agree it would take a serious enthusiast to buy the car..it's honestly a collectors piece. Whereas you go buy a g37/370z, or any other car you mentioned, they will rapidly decline in value while the FD will not only hold its value, but start to appreciate. It's still an easy $20-25k car.

Beautiful car. Miss the 2 I've owned. Have always considered the FD one of the best looking cars ever.

I'd LOVE to buy this, and just keep it as stock as possible. Just do any little service items like Bridgh said...fuel hoses if they need to be replaced (I still have the original hoses in the rear of mine, so I doubt those would be bad necessarily), possibly downpipe, etc.

Suspension...

Wheels....

Single turbo....

Ahhhh dammit. I can't own an FD without modifying it, it's simply impossible.

^I've gone through the same thought process, Eric. I even told Melissa in a couple years (10 or so when the kid is older) I would love to have a rare color combo/package FD with lower miles (>50k) and keep it mint and stock. Maybe just do some JDM Mazda/Mazdaspeed upgrades like the catless JDM downpipe, Spirit R steering wheel/shift knob/e-brake handle/shift boot and e-brake boot, and maybe 99 spec out the exterior and RZ wheels. But the temptation would be too much LOL.

I'll probably end up with a FC Vert to dick around with and keep it closer to stock haha.

Dave, Zico has an FC vert in the garage here with a TII swap. I'd kind of like to make room so I can fix Mike's car and then start work on making my TII a time attack car lol.

I wouldn't want to track this silver FD though. I'd be afraid of wrecking it. And I think the only car I could keep completely stock would be a Spirit R, because I'd keep it in the garage (or inside the house even) and never drive it, keeping it wrapped in several car covers.
