LMAO... My install was a breeze compared to doing robs. And I skipped out on the snow day. I remember all to well.

I've never heard of this kit. I'm assuming this just a turbo...you will need MUCH more components (much of which are difficult to source for an RX-8) to install a turbo

Yea the Apexi is only the Turbo, I know there is a lot more to it, I am basically piecing it together on my own, I am going with the Apexi turbo, a Mushimoto intercooler, and HKS wastegate, I am still looking for a good blowoff value product and the downpipes. I also need to looking into the booster gauges and the turbo timer. but I have looked at just going with a complete kits from JDM.

I think the exhaust manifold will probably be the hardest thing to find, and probably the most expensive other than the turbo, if you want a good one anyway.

JDM?? I hope you're not talking about one of the EBay kits?

I've turbo'ed a few RX-8s and tuned a bunch, so it's safe to say I can help you here.

Problems:

-Apexi turbo is not the right turbo for the Renesis. There are better, less expensive options out there
-You are NOT going to find a manifold, except for a GReddy cast manifold, which won't work with the Apexi snail. The GReddy manifold will only work for internal w/g, plus it allows for a very limited turbo size options
-You aren't going to find a downpipe. You're not. It will have to have one custom fabricated
-Genuine HKS wastegates are nice, but $700-$900. They are overpriced. EBay knock-offs will cost you a motor. Get a TiAL or Precision W/G
-You HAVE to get a Blow-off valve
-Mishimoto intercooler is OK, but you will need to fabricate everything to make it work
-You still need aluminum charge piping, couplers, brackets, etc. All this will need to be custom fabricated if you don't buy a kit. That means you need/access to a mandrel pipe bender, aluminum TIG welder, chop saw, and of course, the skills to use them
-You will need a boost controller
-The factory cooling systems struggles to keep a 180-rwhp stock Renesis cool. A turbo Renesis will generate a metric shit ton of more heat. You will need a new radiator, too
-You need engine management-get a Cobb AccessPORT
-You HAVE to get a custom dyno tune
-If you want more than 300rwhp, you HAVE to get upgraded injectors, at minimum replace the P2 secondaries
-You will HAVE to get a catless midpipe. Turbo Renesis EGT's will melt the factory cat
-An aftermarket cat-back exhaust system is VERY highly recommended, the factory catback will be a restriction with a turbo

I don't want to seem like a downer, but this is the challenge with turbocharging an N/A motor car. I don't want to sound harsh, but you need to do some more homework before putting a turbo on your car, or it could cost you a motor...

If you have anymore questions, let me know
