Hi all,

I'm new to this forum but not to rotary cars. I bought the first RX7 delivered to Bob Penkus Motors in Colorado Springs. It was technically a demo. In reality Bob's daughter had driven it for a little over 7,000 miles. The Penkus mechanics called it a '78. It had all the quirky bits.

It's spark yellow and originally had really ugly copper and brown factory stickers down the side. I drove it daily for over 16 years. After taking it off the road about 10 years ago I am finally putting Roxy back together again.

I joined the club because I need some help sourcing some pieces. Hopefully, somewhere along the line I can help someone else out too.

Thanks in advance for your help,

Herb

Nice, Welcome.

I know a friend in Texas that also has a demo car. He has an 1985 second generation RX-7. Apparently they started making the 2nd gens in 85 in Japan but mass produced in the US as a 86 model. It currently clocks at 12,000 miles.

How many miles does yours have?

Keith's was actually the third one on the Mazda lot, according to what he's said before. Herb, you and Keith should get together, it sounds like you guys might have been on the same lot back then haha.

It's so great to see you guys still have your 7s. PLEASE make it to one of our meets sometime, and I'll see if Keith can make it out too. I'll let him know about you. He's not on this forum and I'm not sure if he has email, and I'm in the desert right now, so maybe I can call him but I can't be at any meets any time soon. I would love it if you guys could meet though. And I'd love to see your car too. Do you have any pics?

I've been trying for several months now to get a '79, but I can't ever seem to get ahold of the people. I hope it's still there.

Welcome Herb!!
