Hi everyone. I'm Jesse and have lived in the Springs for about a year. I'm about to pick up an '06 Miata next week, and just wanted to get a feeling for the autocross scene in the area.
I have an '85 RX-7 that I briefly raced as a TXSpec7 but is in storage now, and my wife has a 09 Mazda 3.

Welcome, from my understanding the autox scene is pretty good. You are pretty close to one of the venues down in the Springs.
Lots of rx7 guys in your hood too!

Hi jessebs, welcome!
I've been active in RMSOLO and BMWCCA autocross programs for several years. RMSOLO has events all year round- next is in Jan. Events turnouts range from 60 at slow winter events, to 150+ at big summer series events. We'll have an SCCA National Tour and EVO school at PPIR this year too.
We've very welcoming to newcomers, let me know if there's anything you need

Welcome! And now that you're here, get that Spec7 out of storage and onto the racetrack! PM me to talk about local racing with NASA and SCCA.

Wow, a very friendly group. I'm really surprised at the number of RX-7's around. Unfortunately, mine is in storage 1000 miles away, but maybe sometime....

Welcome! Yeah bring the 7 if you can, but come out in whatever you have. We have a good group of people in the Springs, and there are a lot more tracks and racing opportunities than I would have imagined before I moved to town.

Where have you autocrossed before, and what was it like?

Autocrossed some in the Red River Region in Texas, and quite a bit through my School's Sports Car Club (50-100 people per event)
