Do they make steelie 17s? A quick look-see on tire rack showed they only had 16's. Although I may not be the best searcher in the world, either. Regardless, I think if you can find some steelies, you'd be getting off a lot cheaper than new wheels. I'd say search 6club for someone selling some OEMs for a decent price.

Maybe look at some of the Mazda3 Forums and see if anyone is selling some used 3 rims like Andrews. Also, theres a place here in Denver off Santa Fe/Oxford called "Performance Wheel and Tire" that has a huge stock of used rims. Could met you there sometime if you'd like...

Think like a 17x8/17x9 rim. But once again 255 is too wide of a wheel for our Speed3's.

Don't go with steelies. Search ebay for a set of 16" or larger Mazda wheels. If they are 5 lug, they will fit your car.

HERE:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/16-Alloy-Wh...sspagenameZWDVW

Or HERE:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MAZDA-16-Al...sspagenameZWDVW

And if you want to make sure they fit, I have this same set in my garage.

Tire Rack has some 195/50/16tires for $82/each.

If you bought the second link wheels at the Buy It Now price, I was just estimating that it would cost about $650 to turn your Mazda into a mountain goat while still looking halfway decent.

Buy THESE for $206.70 shipped (try getting a set of steels for about $50/each shipped).
Buy THESE for $581.72 shipped.

Add those 2 together and you'll see that I was way off on my estimating since they add up to $842.42. Throw in another $60 or so to get them mounted and you're just slightly north of $900. I guess if you fight it out on ebay for those wheels, you can possibly save a few bucks.
