I'm going to put open railing where the existing railing are. I'm having trouble finding pics similar to what I'm doing.

That's the plan. I hate the '80s look, plus the balusters are so far apart that a kid could climb right through them.

The new ones will be 4" apart (code), the old ones were about 7" apart.

Wow 7". Doesn't look like that from the pics. I was thinking they were mebe 5".

We tested it with our friends 2yr old and she could climb through it without a problem.
