Command and Conquer does their games for Mac... I think Starcraft is available for Macs too...
But in all honesty, after working on PCs for years and the issues I've had with them, I'll take my Mac. Very few concerns about viruses (I still run virus software though, just in case), the interface is amazing and I don't have to worry about crashing, losing data, the blue screen of death etc.

Anything shiny and made by Apple.
"It's remain to be seen if it will catch on in a business world where people use computers for actual work and not just dicking around."
LMAO, I love the onion network.

Wow! I wandere over to apple.com and saw the price. Starting @ $999. WOW! And people are willing to pay that in this economy rather than pay their bills or put food on the table or diapers on their kids.

Most of that is BS. My cousin had her Mac book pro for a month when the HDD went out and she lost everything. Then some system crash happened and she had to find some place in Cypruss to get it repaired. (She moved there so she bought the Mac Book to take with her) Everything was lost again. Its all a matter of luck of the draw. There are always some bad apples in the bunch.
It also makes you wonder why DPS got rid of all their Mac's?

Yea, no... The ONLY reason that Mac has few viruses because NO ONE is using it. The hackers (the ones the write the viruses) probably don't use Mac and has nothing to gain by hacking a Mac. All of the important information that they want are hosted on Windows systems. I guess they can steal some artwork from Macs... woohoo!
If Apple is as big as Microsoft and are being used in ALL of the businesses all over the world and Microsoft were smaller like Apple it would be the other way around. It has nothing to do with "there's no virus on Mac because it's better and more secure."
Can a virus be written for Macs? YES. Do hackers have anything to gain by hacking a Mac? NO... not as much as hacking Windows systems all over the world. Is it a waste of time hacking a Mac? YES.
Windows has a lot more to deal with than Macs. It is an open platform where anyone can write a software for it and the OS has to know how to deal with all versions of software and drivers and very easy to work with. It is very FLEXIBLE and backwards compatible. That's why it is the chosen system for most of the world. You can't say the same for Macs.
If Macs are so good, then why do they try to be like Windows? Why do they have Windows emulator? You don't see Windows having a Mac emulator.
C'mon... that Macbook Air has 1.4 GHz Core 2 duo with 2 GB of RAM and it costs $999... are you kidding me?

The 999.00 one doesn't have a CD/DVD rom or a hard drive...it uses flash memory like the iPhone!

hardware is hardware tho, there's really no difference between pc's and macs, I'll agree with that so having a hard drive crash or something like is going to happen regardless of who the manufacturer is. But, the design that apple has for the actual physical casing for their computers (laptops especially) is far superior to everything else out there. That's what I'm willing to pay for. Yes this laptop is small and tiny, but its a solid piece of aluminum, and I bet a lot stronger than most people are giving it right now. If another company comes out with something that has the industrial design similar (doesn't have to be exactly the same) then I'd be interested in looking into that. The fact is tho, NO ONE does!
I'm not gunna talk about the OS cause imho that comes down to user preference, its like picking a speed3 vs a speed6. But, I do use both, and I do prefer OSX to windows, but thats my OPINION/PREFERENCE!!!
All I was trying to do with this thread was share the design/form factor of this new laptop, not that it was a mac, or a dell, or sony, or hp, the name shouldn't matter, just look at the design of it!!!

Ok first off, Apple IS bigger than Microsoft as a company. Second most of the information in the world isn't on windows...or osx for that matter, its all on linux systems. The reason why, stability, customization, and security. Yes virus' can be written for linux, unix (which is what osx uses) but it's more difficult to do so than a dos based windows box.
Also, why is the DOD, Air Force, and a few other military branches all switching over to mac's??? They're doing it for a reason, and mostly because security and the end user capabilities.
And if you were competing with something that most of the world uses now, wouldn't you give your product the means to emulate whatever that was to show that your product is just as good if not better. It makes sense what apple is doing, and also is showing it as well in EVERY market.
If you look at the enterprise market, apple is taking over, its surpassed RIM, windows mobile, android (yes thats the iPhone) but at the same time, more and more people are migrating to macs than staying with windows. Apple's growth rate has been around 18% for the past decade vs all other manufacturers which have been at most 6-8%. So you tell me whats actually going on...everything points to Apple growing faster than anyone can do anything about it.

I think it's cool, regardless of it being Apple. However, I'm no techno-dude, despite "tech" being my job. I have no preference either way, as I'm cost driven, which pretty much automatically keeps me out of any Apple product.
I'll say this much, in the 20 years I've been in this field, I can honestly say I have not worked at any facility that had any form of Apple hardware, save for a few laptops here and there. Maybe at smaller environments, but at an enterprise level, they might as well not exist. Apple's game is end user. Microsoft's biggest chunk comes from enterprise OS/ Server Applications. Completely different ball game.

Those number are misleading... Yes, Mac grew 18%, but that's 18% of Mac 100% NOT 100% of total computing population. 18% of 1000 is 180. 8% of 1 million is 80,000.
I've traveled and worked with a lot of businesses all over the country (some outside of country) as a contractor and vendor. I have access to all their servers. Most of them are Windows shops... Unix, Linux and Novell are few and far in between. Even then, those are just servers, the end users are on Windows. Some marketing departments uses Macs and that's about it.
I think Macs only own about 10% of the Market out there the rest are pretty much Windows. Not sure how 10% is bigger than 90%. Cell phones has nothing to do with this.
Windows don't need to emulate Macs because it doesn't need to. Windows is already doing everything that it needs to. It's like saying, "Why don't Mercedes try to copy Kia?" Because they don't need to nor want to.
I'm sure you won't see the military bringing a Macbook Air into the battle field in a middle of a gun battle. It's most likely a Windows machine.
