Call can mean the same thing as visit. It's just not used in that sense very much anymore. Haven't you ever heard someone say they were going to "call on" someone meaning go see them?

That's why I didn't see why it was funny, because my parents used to have a sign like that for their business when I was really young and I thought it was funny back then because I didn't understand, but once I figured out that it was correct I didn't think it was funny anymore lol.

I do like the ninja exit though haha.
