Well, I took my car into the body shop this morning to fix my little boo boo. Needless to say I already miss my car, especially with the road conditions the way they are.

My wife's 3 is just terrible in the snow and ice, especially compaired to the AWD of the speed6.

I can't wait to get my car back in 10 days. Couting down to December 18th.

That sucks man...

On another note, I spent part of my afternoon playing around in a snow filled parking lot with the STI! STI+studded snow tires=badass!

^^^No crying or hating. Isn't the Speed3 wearing snow tires right now? How is it in the snow? I know on the stock summer tires the Speed3's I drove at Burt sucked balls in the snow, pretty big difference with the winters?

My iPikes performed pretty well earlier today. There wasn't much snow pack down but they didn't slip on my driveway (unlike my Nikes). I used the hand brake a few times in the Home Depot parking lot- one was a sweet 180* turn to help me get out of my parking spot and around the island in the parking lot. I thought it was cool. As soon as I let go of the hand brake, the back end was easily reeled back under control. And most importantly, they never locked up under braking.

No rental car yet, I am going out of town Sunday through Friday, so I am avoiding the rental till friday when I get back. The good news is that with insurance the upgrade to an SUV is only $16 a day, so I am going that route to get some stuff moved that I normally couldn't.

I tried calling the tire sponsor about some snow tires for the civic and for my brothers car and they are out of stock right now :( Both the civic and his car have summer tires on them lol, hills were a challenge last night.

Yeah, you don't want to wait on winter tires. I have a buddy that works at Discount Tire and its company policy to not let anyone take vacation during October/November/early December because they are flooded with people coming in to get snow tires.

i dont want to rain on your parade Patrick, but with the dozen or so body shops I work with, if they say 10 days, that REALLY means 20 days. Hope thats not the case with yours, as my speed6 is on snow tires now and I cant get the damn thing to slide AT ALL!! (except sideways when WOT :D )

Well, I am finally back in town. St. Louis has a little ice storm while I was there, man does it suck there.

I was there from Sunday through Friday and saw the sun once the whole time. I'll trade snow for ice any day.

I got a call from the body shop. Everything is on schedule, went in for paint on Wednesday, should be ready on Monday.

Rental car is a Kia Sorento. Not very fun to drive, but it has AWD which is what I wanted.

Car is done. I took the car to Euro Collision off of Colorado near C-470. They met their budget and got the car done a day earlier than expected. They also offer a lifetime warranty on anything they touch, and to top it all off they gave the car a complete detail inside and out. I have to say that this has been the most pleasing visit I have ever had to a body shop.

BTW the car looks great, I can't see a difference in the paint or any signs that there was ever any body damage.
