What grinds my gears is all the mis-information put out by the media in this country. How ****ing hard is it to tell the truth? The government "shutdown" will likely be the best thing since sliced bread. Kinda like when the bus drivers in Denver went on strike- I drove downtown when that was going on and traffic was a breeze without those damned busses everywhere, and people still go to work on time and everything was fine. Heck, would have been a nice budget cut to do away with them.
Actually you're wrong. Yes the Post office workers will get paid. They are a government agency but run and funded privately. The military is another issue. If the shut down happens (which it will) then their pay is up in the air. Their next check will most likely only be half because the shutdown will happen during the second half of the check. That's if the shutdown is only for a week or less. If it goes on longer then they may not get a check at all until the shutdown ends. I work on a military installation and it's a big issue. They will all still have to come to work regardless of if they are getting paid. Saying a government shutdown where about 80,000 civilain employees and hundreds of thousands of current military and retired military won't get paid is the "greatest thing since sliced bread" is ignorant. Sorry if that offends you but I disagree.
