JK.... maybe.... LOL. Congrats on getting out of this situation without having to sell your kidneys on Craigslist or promise the soul of your unborn child to a bookie in order to pay for a new motor. Good luck getting it put back together. :)

The insurance check would only have been for 6k or so. As much as I want an M3, insurance would be ridiculous now that I have a speeding ticket on my record. The Mazda is better :)

I was ready to start donating various body parts to science, but I thought I'd wait it out and see.

Sure you have considered it, but NOW is the time to have the timing belt, WP and all the other hard to get at bits done to your used engine before it takes up residence. Costs a few $$ but more than worth it long term.

Oh wow, with the repair costing $4500, if they only booked it at ~$6000, I'm shocked they didn't total it, but congrats!

I actually haven't had a ticket in almost 4 years now... for a guy that used to get at least a couple a year back in the day, that's an eternity for me haha. I'm sure having a kiddo and driving like an old lady has something to do with it...

So, since your MZ3 is going to get fixed via insurance, in order to acquire a BMW M3 without the prerequisite cash needed for purchase, we shall have to acquire it another way: high stakes gambling. I'm thinking throwing dice in a back alley somewhere against a group of BMW aficionados sounds like the ticket. You in? :D

I'm pretty sure insurance is covering that too... I got lucky on this one. That's probably why it's so expensive in all honesty. I'm definitely doing my radiator hoses too since I have them and they need to replace all of the fluids as well.

Gonna be a great car when it's done :)

Getting happier with each post that I decided to set up my CAI in SRI mode. Major bummer about your car, but at least you're not out the money.

I still don't have my car back due to the fact that I found out Wednesday I needed a new clutch... So I'm waiting for that now. I'll update everyone when I get my car back :)

I hope the bleeding stops with the new clutch and you'll be back on the road soon.

We will see now. I kind of just told my mechanic off. I'm going to try and get my car back ASAP and make sure he isn't doing the work.

After 3 weeks (and then some) of waiting... I'll have my car back Saturday :)))))

I'm getting the clutch tomorrow morning and it will be installed by tomorrow afternoon and after all the testing gets done with that on Saturday, I'll be good.
