And here is some information:
For Sale - a rare, very early model Mazda Rx-7. Model year 1979, actual manufacture date of March, 1978.
Silver exterior, black interior.
Five-speed, vinyl interior, cheese-grater mag wheels. No sunroof.
Remarkably fine condition! Body is excellent - small dent in left front fender, tiny bit of rust.
Interior - works fine, vinyl seat bottoms need some love, easily restorable.
Shows 35K on odometer - probably 135K. 5-speed.
Engine probably shot. Will not pass emissions as is! (Sold as not meeting emissions.) This is a 12A rotary motor. Starts, but smokes a ton for the first several minutes. Fine to drive home, but not ready to be a daily driver.
This is a perfect candidate to create an electric car! Lightweight, still good-looking, reliable, parts still readily available, great handling. You could also put in anything from a 13B to a big V8 (although it might be a crime to molest such a great condition, early car).
Many spares come with the car, including one complete and nearly a complete second spare motors (disassembled and easily inspectable, condition unknown). Spare seats, other stuff.
Car had a bunch of junk in it when I took the photos, but I'll clean it out nicely.
I love these cars but can no longer store this and don't have time to restore it. Would love to find a good home for it. Please email with questions or to come see it. Delivery on a trailer, with spares, can be arranged (especially for a full-price offer!)
Reminder: This car is sold as "will not meet emissions."
Thank you
