There was an older GT500 running 13.0, but it's possible he was having traction issues or was new to the track. There were a couple older GTs running in the high 13s, and a 2006 GT that had a full 2011 5.0 swap, engine, interior, everything, plus a Paxton centrifugal supercharger that was running high 11s, but he was letting off at the end since he doesn't have a roll bar. I was the only 2011+ 5.0 there I think.

Only a couple boosted cars. There was a 240 that seemed like it was his first time at the track. He was having trouble launching but was trapping close to 120. There was an older Mirage (FWD) on slicks that was running high 11s, and there was a last-gen MR2 that was running mid 12s. Everything else was muscle. F-Bodies, Mustangs, GTOs, Challengers, Vettes, and a lot of bikes.

One guy with a brand new Grand Sport Vette with an Edelbrock supercharger, big subs in the back, and lambo doors came up to me saying he wanted to run me "cause I ain't got to run one of them new 5.0s yet." I said what are you running? He said eh, 11.2. But it was obvious he didn't know much about his car, he just had money and had paid people to do the work. He seemed a little slow in the head so I'm wondering if he inherited the money or something, lol. Either way I declined to run him, not that I really had a choice as by then there were a lot more people there.

There was a 2000ish LS1 Camaro that said he only had heads and a cam that was running 12.1 every time. It was an auto though with much fatter tires than me so it would be much easier to be consistent. One GTO was running pretty consistently 12.4 with the same trap speed as me. Also with better meat on the back.

So I think the theme here is I really need some man tires if I'm going to improve my times, heh. And some more practice. About to head out soon to get some more of that right now.

How long are you staying? What tires (brand, size) are you currently running.

Pirelli PZero, 255/40/19.

I'm leaving tomorrow morning. Was just here for the weekend. Didn't get any times tonight because for some reason they weren't doing times until later and I wasn't staying late tonight. I did get a run in against a new Camaro SS, WS6 TA, and an 80s Camaro. Beat all of them, but also lost once to the WS6 and the SS. My first run of the night was against the WS6 and I bogged it badly. I was running him down at the end but didn't catch him before the line. Ran him again right after and he still had me on the launch but not as badly and I did run him down that time.

Later I ran the new Camaro SS and it was my best run of the night. Felt perfect. It might have been my 12.5 but I'll never know. Destroyed him by a couple Walmarts because he was terrible at launching and couldn't close the gap at all up top. A couple runs later I had decided to shut it down because I was spinning even 3rd gear, but I saw the SS sitting in the staging lanes all alone so I decided I'd go embarrass him one last time. Shouldn't have tried it. Had no traction at all, tires were done. It was like driving on ice no matter what gear I was in. So I just put it in 6th and finished the 1/4 at 60mph, heh. My wife was freaking out thinking I'd broken something.

All in all it was a fun trip. I wish I had more 12sec official timeslips though, but I'll have to just settle for the one.

Now you need some spray to compensate for altitude when you come back here, heh.

Time for some Mickey ET streets on track wheels and skinnies up front, eh?

Haven't updated in a while. Recently put in a Barton Short Shifter and it feels great. The track day last month has done unkind things to my tires so I had to order some new ones...

You read it right. 275/35/19. Got them installed this morning. Once I break them in a little I'll post my thoughts about them.

Hehe, they were only inside overnight. I did have another set of tires in that same spot a couple years back though that sat there for over a week and now there's a discolored circle on the linoleum that won't come out. :\
