I have been playing with the sheet metal I have for the base. So now I just need to get the DOM and I will have all the neccesary materials. Cost thus far (aside from brain damage) is $12.90.

ECAM, are there any consumable welding supplies I should get and bring whe nwe start putting this all together? What avbout flapper discs/hard discs for grinding?

Nothing needed (except space). Have a RMSolo event on Sunday. Will have my free to me tires then. Monday I hope the 260Z will be under it's own power.

Have fun at solo. I should toss the worn winter tires/stock wheels I have on and go slide around some, but think I may go to the fundraiser cruise. Solo would be a lot more fun...so now I'm a bit torn.

Thanks. I'll try to swing by next week/weekend.

Too late, registration closed yesterday. If only you knew someone who could get you in as a walk up....

if only. That kind of stuff actually annoys me personally, so I wouldn't do it.

I was looking at the winter schedule today, There is a venue I haven't driven at on there and I want to hit the longer ppir course again. So hopefully hit some winter events.

That occasional second gear grind bugs me, but reading a lot more, seems really prevelant. Should be fine for a few runs at least:D

Hmmm...don't recognize the car. Looks like a 1.5" drop. Pretty stretched on the rear wheels (imo). Nice ap1. I've not seen the trim above the muffler tips color matched before(our payed attention to it at least). I like it. The car really benefits from a lip, I'm just not in love with the oem lip he is running. Did it sound stock as far as exhaust? I really like debadging of the s2000 emblems too. Glad mine were already off.

Washed the car today, then cleaned and treated the vinyl top. It is nice and clean now and a nice black color instead of grey. Also took the tonneau cover off the shelf and put it on for the first time. It really cleans the look up when you go top down!

There is a nice cf tonneau cover for sale near my brothers place, but not sure how often I would use something like that...except planned cruises.

What did you use on the top? My Miata's top is very faded from sitting in the sun all day every day.

I used Ragg Top. My top is vinyl, so I used the Ragg Top Cleaner, then the vinyl protectant. I also have the cloth protectant. I'm not sure if the miata has a vinyl or cloth roof, but I have both if you want to give it a good treatment. The protectant is for UV protection, so if it sits out, probably a good idea. Mine is garage kept. IT wasn't in really bad shape color wise, but cleaning it and treating it, it almost looks new (except the plastic rear window).

IF anyone has any good ideas for getting the rear window (plastic) clean and somre scratches and pressure marks removed, I'm all ears.

Nice! I did the same yesterday once I got the garage in order. I used to like putting the tonneau cover on the MG, too. I even had the cover that went over the entire passenger seat as. Looked neat, but it trapped heat.

The parts I was spying were in the Baltimore, MD area.

I want to get a good bit of work done to my car so that it has some things for people to look at during these two shows:

Picked up a used AP1 bumper today at a great price. It isn't cosmetically perfect, so I can begin learning to do some body work. It also provides me the opportunity to have a winter and a summer bumper. I'm also very interested because now I can leave my VIN matching bumper stock and do some alterations to the one I just picked up. I would like to create my own lip combining features I like of 2 other lips; the greddy and the Honda S2000 CR lips.

Greddy gracer Lip. I like the wider sides and the narrower waist at the radiator opening.
Image

CR Lip. I like the ingrated canard of sort that will work to create a little more downforce in the front. I have read that these begin working around 40 mph. One issue with this is that the rear of the car has a fair amount of lift at speed. That will make an undertray and rear diffuser more important. It may also create the need for a larger CR style wing.
Image

I plan to do a splitter for the lip as well. This will need to be custom made as well to work correctly with the bumper/lip (aesthetically at least). As an exampl on a stock bumper Image

The nice thing about constructing the lip myself is that it will be molded into the bumper so the transition from the lip to the bumper should be seamless. Currently, the plan is to shape the lip using US composites expanding foam, covering that with packaging tape, then molding it with either fiberglass or carbonfiber. Right now, I think fiberglass is the smarter choice as it will conform more easily, and is better for sanding and feathering the transitions (from my understanding.).
