Nice! If Mazda had only kept upgrading instead of starting to downgrade throughout the years, imagine where we'd be. lol Say, a stronger transmission in the FD than in the FC, rather than the other way around lol.
I talked to another FD buddy and he suggested I turn the boost down from 24 to something like 15-18, but I DON'T WANNA!!!! lol After talking to him I'm thinking I might just get the dual hanger from CJM and do dual 044s right now.

The leaky fuel line issue is fixed. I'm not sure if I already mentioned this but I ordered a replacement line, but I didn't check first to make sure which line it was so I ordered the wrong one. I was going to just take the leaky line off and take it down to Whisler Bearing and have them build me another one, but I realized I had some extra -6 line in the storage shed so I took it to work the other day and rebuilt it. I put it on last night and pressure tested it today after work. I think my next step is going to be doing a compression test on the engine again, and this time I'll open the throttle plates since I always forget that part lol. Then I'm going to remove the fuel injectors and send them off to get cleaned and flow tested to make sure they're good. Then I'll try to get all the fuel and ignition upgrade components and do that.

Yeah I know, I really want to. I went to start the car last night so I could warm it up and do a proper compression test, and I didn't even get the starter click, but what I do get is battery draw from somewhere. When I turn the key forward to accessory, I can hear the water pump and the fuel relay that I installed a few years ago. When I turn it forward further I hear the fuel relay click again and I hear the tone of the water pump go down a bit, so I know it's drawing somewhere. I clicked my kill switch back and forth and it doesn't change anything. My first thought was "well, I guess I'll work on this in a few more months because it just killed my mood again" lol. I guess I'll start at the kill switch and make sure those wires are still plugged in. I'm going to turn the engine by hand too just to make sure it's not seized up for some reason, but I'm really not sure why it would be, it ran just fine last time.

I noticed another problem when checking into the no-start problem. Even with the ebrake handle pulled up, the ebrake idiot light isn't on, but it turns on when I turn the key forward to start it, then it goes out again when I let go of the key.
I did swap the leaky fuel line, but that's all I did. So I'm wondering if maybe I arked it somewhere and burned a wire.

maybe a crossed wire in the ignition switch?

maybe check the starter-wires? i had a similar problem on an old car and had to install a starter-relay-bypass which finally fixed the issue (of intermittent starting)

Well the ebrake light problem will be fixed shortly. I looked into it and remembered that the connector broke off the wire so it wasn't making contact, and I don't even remember how I rigged it to stay in there haha. I'm just going to put a spade connector on there so it will stay on. Next I'm going to check into why the fuel relay is clicking because I don't remember it ever clicking before. And then I'll look under the UIM for something I messed up.
Chris, is that something that might just happen randomly? Because the fuel line is the only thing I've messed with recently.
Geo, I'll probably check the starter wires if I can't find anything I may have messed up. I'm not sure why they'd be acting up all of a sudden, but it's worth a look.
Thanks for the input guys.

I'll look at the wiring diagram for your car and see where it runs. I'm thinking it could be the switch because that is the only way it would happen on its own.
Is your no start, a complete no start with no power getting to the motor?

I'm looking at the diagram.
It looks like all the warning lights are on the same fuse. When you turn the key to run without starting, do all the other lights come on? It they are the same way, it is the switch. If it is just the brake light, check the starter cut relay.
I'm guessing the starter cut relay is dead.

As far as I can tell all the idiot lights are coming on. I think I'll have to look at what you're liking at to see what you're talking about. I haven't checked to see if the engine is getting power. I'm not really sure what's getting power and what isn't. It just seems like there is a power draw or something is seized and sounds like a draw while turning the key.
You're saying it could be the ignition cylinder itself? Or the switch in there or what?

It starts! Well, at least I'm getting more than I did lol. I probably still have the old starting/running issue. I had a Pettit starter booster on it that I've been meaning to remove, so I did that. I had also removed the UIM to look under and didn't see anything bad. I hooked up a spare TPS to see if it would start and it was hesitant but I clicked the key forward a few times and I got the starter to engage. So it was either the starter booster, the starter, or my TPS lol. I'll see if it's the TPS when I put the UIM back on. I'm going to remove the injectors first though to send them off to get cleaned and flow tested.

Well it still doesn't want to start, but that could be old fuel or any number of other things, but it's still cranking at least. I went ahead and ordered some parts in the mean time. I bought the CJ Motorsports dual fuel pump hanger for Bosch 044s, and the pumps, from a guy on 7club. I installed the pumps into the hanger, but I'm trying to figure out if I can use hardline or a tiny piece of hose to connect the lines from pump to hanger, and also trying to decide what to use for wiring.

I'm still waiting to hear back from the guys that make the in-tank surge tank, then I'll buy that. And that will actually determine what lines I use to connect the pumps to the hanger because I might have to rig up something for the pump inlets so they can sit lower. The parts supplied with the surge tank make the pumps sit higher and I probably won't be able to use lines directly, I'll have to use longer lines and route them around. Either way, it's going to be a complete PITA to install all this stuff in the tank, but these pumps should be reliable enough I won't have to worry about it once it's installed.
I also ordered the AEM smart coils and a wiring harness from LMS-EFI, aka Ludwig Motorsports aka Chris Ludwig. There is a lead time of about a month for those though. And I'm also looking at picking up a tranny brace right now too since the guy that makes them has one left.
I also got on the group buy for these fire extinguisher mounts. I already have a SBG mount for the stock passenger seat but since I'm planning on getting racing seats and I loved the design of these clamps, and because it was cheap, I couldn't pass it up. But now I need to figure out where and how to mount it. The guy that designed it lives in Erie, CO so I drove up and picked it up today. He also installed the same fuel pump setup I'm doing and told me about wiring in warning lights to indicate if the pumps fail and also if there is no fuel pressure in the lines for whatever reason. And I also discovered that he used to work my same career field in the AF back in the day. Small small small world. Anyway, turns out I'll have to get a new fire extinguisher because my other one is too small, so I'll probably sell the whole SBG setup when I install this one.

If you want, I can stop by some time and if maybe I can figure out your electrical problem. Sometimes it is just good to have a second opinion.

It's not the same as it was, I can get it to crank now, so I don't believe it's electrical unless it has something to do with the ignition system not firing or something, but I believe I have spark. Now it's back to the problem I had before where it was hard to start, although now it's practically impossible. I'm going to put some stabilizer in the fuel too, or I might drain it so I can install the pump assembly.
