After watching this video, I want to build their MK4 Cobra replica kit with a supercharged Coyote motor. /drool

Factory Five makes some good stuff. They are about to release a Porsche 914 kit but for me if I were to build another FF I would do the 33 ford with a Coyote.

So if there are any children in the room, please ask them to leave before looking at the car porn below. The is really the last thing on my list and since i had money left over in the budget from rims and tires, I was able to spring for it. Shadowden, I got my rims and tires through the shop and their tire rack wholesale account and saved about 20-25% over what was on the website. Let me know if you want some pricing.

K-Tune Shifter for the 818. The shifter that comes with the kit leaves a bit to be desired. It was sloppy and sat up way to high. The piece is just simply a work of art.

Wow, nice shifter! Is there a matching handbrake?

No matching handbrake, I am stuck with the crappy Subaru one and due to space the tell you to mount it at an angle which I don't like and think looks funny. I was thinking about figuring out another system but we will cross that bridge when we get to it.

Shifter looks great. I can't imagine a bracket for the hand brake couldn't be fabricated.

How does the spacing on the pedals feel. From the picture they look like huge gaps. Guessing it is the angle as the sti pedals are pretty well spaced.

Might be interested in tires. Thinking of getting track tires top put in the stock rims but not sure yet.

Will there be more to the rear frame than what is there? Looks like a rear ender could be pretty ugly. Or is the plan to only drive it on the track?

It will be driven on the street but that is a concern and there is not much you can do. Plus, who wants to add weight to a 1800 lbs sports car. Just pray and insure the car right.

Insurance isn't going to help much when the engine comes crashing through into the cabin pushed by some SUV that didn't even get slowed down by that low bar. I'd say the extra weight is worth it if it saves your life.

Not trying to be a downer here, but we like having you around.

Point taken. I do know that there are many safety feature engineered into the chassis and I do know there is a crumple zone in back (along with the front) and that the fire wall was designed to contain the engine in the event of an accident. Plus, the rear of the trans still needs to be removed and would move the end of it up about 5 inches leaving a bit of a bumper. I feel safe about being in the car but am more nervous about what it would cost to repair and at some point how easy is it going to be totaled in the event of an accident.

There are risks in driving (every time we get behind the wheel) just like life. This car is no different than getting into MR2, Lotus Ellis, or even a Miata. Small cars do have added risk but offer many rewards and in this case I think the juice is worth the squeeze. I put a lot of miles in my Miata and felt like I was more aware of what was going on around me than compared to when I drive my Super Duty. In a small car it is important to be aware of your surrounding and can help minimize some of the risk involved but on the other hand there are situations that are simply our of our control.

Wheels and tires came in yesterday and I am very pleased with how they turned out. Right now as they sit, everything clears but by an 1/8" . It is primarily the rear and am running 5mm spacer and an 8mm space should do the trick. The 5mm will move to the front and help will some clearance at full lock. Also got the steering wheel somewhat install and am happy with the fitment and space it give me. I don't think there is going to be enough space to do a quick disconnect as planned. This is an item that will go on the board to be addressed after the car is assembled.

I just thought about something...I know we've met, but that was a few years ago and I don't remember how tall you are. It looks like you have to have really short legs to drive this lol.

I am 6'3" and have had to make some changes so I can fit. If the car was built with stock parts and per the manual, I would not fit. The steering column was shortened by 2", I went with a aftermarket gas tank to gain 3" and then the short hub/steering wheel gave me another 1-1/2". All in all, I now fit perfect and have a little more room than I did in my Miata.

Wow, really? I'm 6'3" also and I was thinking there is no way I could fit in this thing. Although, I couldn't fit in a Miata either, but it was stock, so I assume you did some things so you could fit in it also lol.

Yeah those are slick. I want to see what it all looks like together with the body on.
