Cp-e Pnp Standback Tuner
Well I am about ready to finally cll CPE and order this damn thing, especially now that they are releasing the PnP option. Just wondering what everyones opinions, thoughts, comments, and asshat worthy remarks are regarding this thing.

Get it. Have a professional tune it on a dyno (I recommend calling Revolutions Performance in the Springs- 719-635-6200). Pay attention while the car is being tuned. Enjoy.

Yes it is, but mine will be of the plug and play variety, and I'll have the second gen software and board as well.
Brandon, what about Nick at MAC for tuning? I'd prefer to go somewhere that has a little bit of experience with uning the speed6. Especially since the money is based on time spent on the dyno.

Yeah don't take it to Nick nothing against him but it'll cost you a lot to have it tuned by him and he hasn't really done too many speeds... I can do a basic tune and probably a full tune on my car so if you want any help with anything let me know but by no means am I a pro lol. Also you will have issues with the temperature changes up here and fuel cut and it'll be a big pain in the ass so just be careful what you get yerself into.

I was thinking of making a map just for colder weather, and a seperate one for warm weather. If fuel cut becomes too much of a problem, then I will probably pick up the new fuel pump and forego an exhaust, at least for a little while.

I would not recommend tuning it yourself, unless you have a couple tuning tools to help you:
1. A good wideband O2 sensor, hooked to a device that can DATALOG. A wideband won't be of nearly as much help if you can't datalog, as you won't be able to see what corrections need to be made at an exact RPM.
2. A good knock sensor/sensing device. If while tuning you're getting knock, you'll know to turn down the boost/timing and/or add fuel.
I would also recommend tuning on a dyno (preferably load bearing like a DD) as opposed to the road, if for no other reason than it's more expedient, as being able to fine tune would help in eeking out max power potential. To my knowledge, the Standback cannot currently support a wideband, unless the 2nd version has been released, and now comes with that capability. I also don't think it taps into the stock knock sensor, so as of right now, take it to a dyno. Even if you're going to tune it yourself, use the tailpipe wideband at a dyno. Just my $.02

I'm 100% certain that I am not going to tune this thing myself. That's just plain scary and stupid given my knowledge of tuning.

To add on to this tune it on the colorado springs dyno Performance evolution or something that Brandon recommended. Reason being its load bearing and it will be just like road conditions and easier to tune I think. Won't be any inconsistencies from the dyno to driving.
