Got the Blitz NUR Spec R catback exhaust today. Holy hell it's loud! The stock exhaust is much more restrictive than I anticipated. Tiny piping and a GIANT muffler section that weights at least 50lbs. I should know, it smacked me in the back of the head when I was installing the new exhaust.
Initial impressions- Blitz exhaust is about 1/3 the weight of the stock exhaust so there is good weight savings. It sounds very aggressive at idle, no mistaking this car for anything but a rotary! The big 4" polished tip looks aggressive, too.
Definitely added some power. It's common knowledge with how restrictive the OEM catback is so anything is better power wise haha. I can really tell the twins spool much faster, too, which is where I think most of the power is coming from.
At WOT it isn't *too* loud, I mean it's a sports car and I expect it to be loud when I'm hauling ***. Only issue I have is it kinda "drones" while cruising under light throttle and deceleration. Other than that it isn't bad. We'll see if I stick with it or perhaps swap for something more subtle like the Racing Beat duals.
I'm still running the OEM main cat so when I delete it (once I get the PowerFC) it's gonna be even louder, something to consider.
Now I'm debating what to do for the next round of modifications...save for wheels/tires, or do the center speaker gauge pod with AEM coolant temp and voltage gauge (wired to the fuel pump, a big issue with the FD) along with the fuel pump re-wire, or Fluidyne radiator....there's too much to buy!

Very nice. Looking forward to seeing the vid.
I'm sad that I'm almost done with my 3. I mean, it's a blast to drive, but planning the next upgrade and then getting the part in the mail and putting it on.. that's almost more fun than driving the finished product, heh.

^So true.
I think of it like this...I get at least 3 times the happiness with buying car parts and putting them on as I would get from any of my other past hobbies...happiness from receiving the part, from putting it on, then driving the car. Not to mention that the happiness comes back every time I drive lol.

Haha, true that Eric!
I took the woman out today for a nice scenic drive in the FD. We headed towards Estes Park through Drake and hit up the Thompson River Canyon. It's not a very long road, only about 1.5 miles, but it's a super twisty two laner that splices directly through a massive canyon.
Very beautiful and lots of fun, unless you get a stupid grandpa in a Buick in front of you on the way into the canyon and then a soccer mom in an Tahoe going -2mph in front of you exiting the canyon, like I did today
Nevertheless it was fun, nice weather and I got to hear my exhaust more. It isn't as loud as I remember haha. It sounds pretty good.
