LOL I was wondering how long it would take for someone to see that. We thought we would leave it there for future kids as a mary-go-round. Actually it is now sprayed with a brushed nickle look (instead of sponge painted sky blue) and is mounted back on the ceiling.

I started on the project. I'll get pics up in the next few days. I pulled all the rails carpet associated with the stair to the basement/family room. I started scraping the popcorn off the ceiling and installed some recessed lights in the basement. Scraping the popcorn has to be the suckiest part. I also removed all the trim in the basement and moved everything out of the way to finish the ceiling projet.

Tonight and tomorrow night I will be finishing the ceiling in the basement, installing a phone line, installing 2 more recessed lights, and installing a tree in the yard. So I have 2 long nights.

Wednsday my brother is bringing all the parts that my Dad has, including casing, 4x8 sheets in 1/8" oak plywood, some treads, newel posts, and a bunch of tools.

Next weekend, I will be buying most everything for the project including making a trip to lumber liqidators in Lone Tree. I will also be installing blown in insulation in the basement walls.

I still haven't put pics of here yet. My wife was going to be the picture taker for this project but she keeps forgetting to take any (in school), LOL. I did take some yesterday that I will post tonight.

My brother and I did make all the trips we needed to. We made 3 trips to Lowe's, 2 trips to Home Depot, and a trip to Lumber Liquidators in Lone Tree. I now have a garage filled with wood. We also did blown in cellulose insulation in the basement on Saturday, what a PITA.

It is for 19 sq ft of flooring and 52 ft of stair nosing. The one in the springs could have it here till tomorrow and my brother left today with the pickup.

Between tonight and the end of the weekend, I plan to start patching holes in the sheet rock and get the light skip trowel texture done. I want to get most of it ready for paint.
