It really depends on how bad they are. Always claybar anything before using a polisher. For mildly oxidized headlights (like I'm Batman's Jetta) You could use toothpaste, or mother's power polish (my preferred method) For heavily oxidized I start with wet sanding 1,000grit and increase the grit to 1,500 2,000,2,500,3,000 and finally finish with the polish and drill attachment. The problem with fading headlights is that the factory UV protection has failed. If you don't protect the headlights they will just get cloudy again. You will need to either get protection film, clear coat, or wax your headlights at least every other week (I have done this and know it works).

did you hit it with the UV protectant?

I had good results from the 3M stuff myself, so it seems most of th kits will work if used correctly and you have reasonable expectations.

From what I've read in my research of Prima products, Prima Cut works well on headlights.

I'm glad my headlights are glass.
