Success!! I finally got my wiring harness out...

Take a look at the connectors on this one that just came out of my car compared to the other one up above. This one doesn't have that giant blue connector, just the ones that go to the ECU and that white one up above...

Yeah that's definitely different. I guess you can hook it up and see what happens lol. Have you looked online or on 7club or RCC to see if anyone else knows the difference?

Nah. It doesn't really matter right now since I have 2 of them hahaha. At some point I'll post on the other forums though to see what's up.

Which one is in better shape? I'd use whichever one that is as long as it works with the car.

I saw a thread on RCC.com about the differences between auto and manual harnesses. You can use an auto on a manual car but there is some work involved. Talk to theorie on that forum, his name is Tom.

Hmmm... Well, I ended up just using the one that was in the car instead of the extra. I know I'll be able to plug this one back in once I'm done slimming it down and making it pretty. I might re-wrap that oddball harness and just try to sell it when I have a fire sale on all my stock parts.

So far I've removed all the split loom and electrical tape from the harness I'm using. Now I have to remove the the wires and connectors I won't be using, put the new injector plugs on, and wrap it all back up.

Sounds simple, and it is, but just finding the time to work on it is the hard part. I JUST WANT TO DRIVE MY CAR!! lol

You and me, both, brother lol.

Did you come by on Saturday? If you did, I don't believe I got the chance to meet you.

Let me know if you need help. I am available not this weekend or next, but after that I have a lot of free time, even on some weekday nights.

Nope. I didn't get a chance to come by unfortunately.

Andy - No time this weekend. I've been out of town. Next weekend I plan on working on the car Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday and I probably won't get a chance to do anything on it until then.

I have a friend coming to help next weekend. We're planning on relocating the battery, removing the radiator, doing the brakes, fixing my speedometer, putting in the fuel pump (if I can get it from you this week), and anything else possible.

Well I've pretty much finished the wiring harness. The only thing left to do is snake my boost controller wires through it and wrap that part up. Hopefully I didn't take out any wires/connectors I am going to need...

Looks good!

Mazda definitely didn't make it easy on us with those OEM connectors. Some are difficult to disconnect (without potentially breaking them) and a few even look alike.

Too bad they couldn't utilize GM-style connectors...those are soooo much easier to work on and are dummy-proof.

Thanks man. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Much better than the brittle burnt crap that it was before.

I agree... Mazda did not make it easy. Not only do many of the connectors look alike and are relatively close to each other in the harness, trying to figure them out by the wire colors is pretty annoying. It seems like about half of my wire colors were the ones documented... The others were WAY off of any information I could find. So... Like I said... hopefully I didn't cut out something I need!!! hahaha

You available next weekend? Let's put this thing into overdrive and knock out the fuel stuff. Might as well knock out whatever else you need. connect the turbo up.

Don't forget to buy radiator coolant hosing, New silicon vacuum lines, (measure the wastegate) and check out Erik's brackets so I can make them. I'll probably make an extra set for me in case I want to copy your set up in the future. We need to get your brackets made then install everything. order the hoses for the radiator to complete that, finish the intercooler and intake piping, and mock up some cardboard ducting to make some sheet metal ducting:)

Let's get this thing moving! Don't forget to duct your oil cooler.

Saturday looks good for me. Eric said he should be able to stop by as well.

I got a lot done today:

- Relocated the battery
- Installed fuel pump
- Cleaned connections and put cluster back in
- Installed new rear speakers
- Installed primary fuel rail and injectors
- Started to install the secondary fuel rail
- Removed all 4 brake calipers and started cleaning them. (Found that the rear driver's side caliper had a cross threaded bolt... Probably going to order a new caliper for that one.)

I just ordered this for my LIM: [ame]http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0039Z5TRC/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1[/ame]

and this for my downpipe: [ame]http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0039Z1UHA/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1[/ame]

Hopefully this weekend we can knock out the V-mount madness.

you only need the outer bracket and not the caliper for the rear. Jesse has a mazdaspeed account and gets discounts.

P/N FD01-26-281

or re-tap hole.
