Does anyone track their mileage on their Speed3? I'm not talking on what the trip computer says you're getting, because she's a filthy lying whore. I'm talking about calculating miles per tank on each fill-up. The trip computer tells me anywhere between 25-27 MPG, but when I do calculations when I fill up, I'm showing more like 22.5-23.5. Most of the time, I drive pretty conservatively.
What's everyone else getting?

while I no longer have it, I was calculating 25-27mpg at the pump on a daily basis. I was able to hit up to 33-34mpg calculated at the pump when being super-conservative. The Trip-Computer showed 37-38mpg during that time. 22-23mpg isn't that great IMO, that's what I get in my EVO. But it's hard to compare when driving habits cause so much variation. How many miles are you getting to a tank? Should be over 300.

26-27 with 32 being a record coming back from SLC.

I have every receipt from every tank of fuel I've put in the car since new, with the odometer reading written on each receipt. I'm pretty sure I've NEVER gotten any mileage that good. :fml:

Fuel Mileage
Dommo, I, too, have recorded every fill up and plotted each on an Excel graph. The trip computer reads an average of 9% higher than actual. There is a slight variation between fill-ups as some pumps are flat out dishonest about volume delivered. I avoid those stores that consistently claim to fill "out of tolerance":mad: amounts. That being said, I drive like a grandma for the majority of the time and have averaged 27.66 miles per gallon since new. I have maxed out at about 34 mpg when driving down hill at around 60 mph and gotten as little as 21 mpg when averaging 78 mph for an entire tank. Note, when the car is wrapped out in top gear it gets less than 4:338567b8: mpg.

Dommo, When I find a station where the pumps consistently register volumes that are in excess of the onboard computers estimate-(plus a pretty consistent 9%), or claim to have delivered in excess of 13 gallons to my gas tank, it makes me look for a pattern. When I get the same results (actual fuel replacement varying dramatically from on-board computers mileage estimates) multiple times from specific stations, I conclude that the pumps are set to favor "the house".

It's a 14.5 gallon tank, so if you run it all the way down to the E, why would it be suspicious if it said you got 13 gallons? If this was still 1975 I could see being suspicious as it was common practice to rig the pumps, but now there is federal testing that takes place and any station that did this consistently would get caught.
Anyway, I tracked 39 tanks of gas after my MS3 was fully bolted. I did about 75% highway driving. My average MPG was 25.215. When the car was bone stock I would average more like 29mpg. I have that tracked too but it's on an old phone that is currently not charged. I'll charge it and get the exact number off of there.
Other than being on cruise control for a fair portion of my commute, I drive like a crazy person when not humming along at 80-85mph on I-25. So my gas mileage is generally going to be lower than most. Not once did I ever get 33-34mpg though even if I drove conservatively for a whole tank. This could be related to my highway speeds though. In any car, 70mph will always result in much better gas mileage than 80-85mph. I just can't drive that slow unless the speed limit is 65, heh.

EROD, I didn't realize the tank was that large. For some reason I thought the tank was only 13.5 gallons. Maybe I read a Canadian spec. I dunno.
I have, however, found a pattern where the consistent variation of the trip meter to the actual fill gallons (9% optomistic) is 15-18 percent off. The pump scammers programming has gotten extremely sophisticated such that the pumps can run ahead of actual volume dispensed between whole gallons (as would be experienced in normal fill-ups) and then correct themselves to actual volume dispensed at testing volumes. I trust no one.
But then again, maybe my tinfoil is too tight.

After booting up my old phone, it appears I was incorrect, and those 29mpg tanks when stock were not the norm. I averaged 26.2mpg when bone stock. And it went down by 1mpg after modding. I don't know if that was attributed solely to the mods or to me driving more aggressively once I had more powah.
