I'll be racing there with a great bunch of mostly Miata people. The team is "Who's on First?" with a theme from the Abbott and Costello baseball routine.

Folks from this forum will LOVE the car!! I don't want to steal the thunder of the team members who worked very hard to build it, but... it's a second-gen Rx-7 that's been re-engined with nothing less than a 1.6liter Miata motor!! Behold, the mighty Mx-7!!

Before anyone starts laughing, please note the car finished 6th overall in the ChumpCar 24 Hours at PPIR (I was not part of the team). Yes, you read correctly - a true 24 hour race and this car finished 6th overall of 30-some starters!! (And that was with no lighting other than stock original sealed beam headlights!)

No promises on how we'll do at this race, but we'd love to meet and talk with Colorado Mazda folks!!! Come on out and cheer for us!

sounds like fun. if I have the time I'll love to go. so are people allowed to stay overnight and keep watching the race?

edit: or does it stop at 8, then restart the next day at 9:30?

One way or another, it's going to be an adventure!
The HPR race 7/9-10 is one race in two parts-
Saturday, 11am to 8pm
Sunday, 9:30am to 3pm
so, yes, it does stop and restart.
