Got my AP in today...
So my AP finally came in and i'm getting ready to tune it. My mods are Mazdaspeed CAI and Corksport TBE so which tune do i need to pick? The 91 octane or 93? And i heard i should pick a safe tune because i don't have a high powered fuel pump. Someone help me out, thanks.

the 1gen ms3's dont need a fuelpump rebuild for the stock maps.
because you have the intake and the dp. you can go with the stage 2 map. and at this altitude. 91 here is about equal to 93octane at sealevel.
so run stage2 93 if you get any pinging, or knock retard drop down to the 91 tune. my buddy was running the stage2 93 for a long time and the only thing he had extra was the intercooler.

Ok cuz it has so many stage 2 tunes I'm just a little confused at the difference. I only got like 10 minutes of looking at it though before I had to leave so I'll take a better look tomorrow

monitor your di fuel pressure if it doesnt hold in wot or drops low as hell...you probably should use that map then and go to stage 1 map or even get a pro tune down the line where you could use 18ps...did you put the ptp pill in yet?

Make sure you're using the map that is specific to the Mazdaspeed CAI. I'd run the 91 map just because we have 91 here. Even if the car does run ok on the 93 map, I would just feel more comfortable running the map that is designed for the octane we have here. Just looked on the Cobb website and the tune I would suggest to try first is the "Stage2+MSCAI2 91 Octane". If you get cuts when driving it hard, then try the "Stage1+MSCAI2 91 Octane". My car didn't like the stage 2 map even with all the required mods. I would still get cuts. So I ran the stage 1 map until I got a protune.

So I have to go download different maps?

I would make sure you're downloading maps from the website to make sure you have the most current revisions. They make changes to improve the maps and you want the most recent one. Here's the link for the maps. They are even different for 2007-2008 and 2009.

Just above all else, make sure you're using a map that includes the MSCAI and not the SF intake. Otherwise the tune will not read incoming air properly because they have different MAF housings.

DI Fuel Pressure, should be at least 1600psi at WOT. AFRs, usually want them to be in the 11s. Maybe 12.0-12.1 at the leanest. Knock Retard, preferably none.
