I say it's a really good Photoshop and really didn't catch fire. Just because of the quality of the pictures and the water mark. looks nice.

On a side note, I'm mad because someone stole my dream color scheme for my FD! Orange is by far my favorite color, I had planned on painting my FD Orange with black wheels and carbon fiber accents ever since I got it.

Nah. That's why we have fire extinguishers.

Back in 2005 when I changed the clutch on my FD the first time, I noticed that the FPR was dripping fuel out of the vacuum port...right over the rear turbo. I bought a fire extinguisher LOL!

If you look at the underside of the hood, you can definitely tell it was really on fire. I think I saw that pic on FB though.

Basically they are claiming the engine harness melted and sparked on the secondary fuel rail, starting the fire, and the it burns through the OMP oil lines which added fuel to the fire.

I'm not buying that. The main harness should be a behind the fuel rails, and the OMP lines have what, a teaspoon of oil in them? I believe it's easier and more convenient to say it was an electrical fire because no one is really to blame then, but if they said it was a fuel fire (which is probably really was) then someone obviously messed up installing the fuel rail, twisted an o-ring on an injector because they forgot to lube them, didnt tighten a fitting or make a AN line properly, or something.

But whatever, it was a gorgeous FD that should still be around, makes me sad.

Do still photos of a car doing a burnout in boost look different than a still photo of a ca doing a burnout without going into boost? Are still pictures of a car doing a burnout really cool out in the middle of a parking lot?

Sad to see the FD go, but that seemed kind of lame to me. MAybe its a case of burnout-ability envy that I have (going to chirp the mz3 tires in memory of this FD soon as I get it back).

Technically it would be adding oil to the fire, but since it's still a petroleum product you're still partially correct. LOL

Something does seem strange about that though.

Anyone know the story behind this?
