Thanks Tom! It is with out doubt the most fun i have ever had! Been to HPR three times, and am going to Pueblo Motorsports Park on the 9th of October. Then the winters go on :(

Like you said it's not cheap, but it is so worth it. Really the most expensive thing isn't the track day fee, but the tires and brakes that i have to replace. The brakes just cost me $650. Tires won't last long to long at this rate either. So worth it :D

Thanks for the heads up on the track only pads! I would not want that to happen.

Come with on the 9th!

Updated the first post and review post with part numbers if anyone is interested. If you go with the Hawk HPS please be aware of the part numbers listed for the rear pads.

Long term Update?

Postby WINGSPD » Tue Jan 31, 2012 9:14

Andrew, I was hoping that you may have had a long term update for the pads and rotors.
I have read that the 4000 series rotors sometimes develop cracking and warping and was hoping that yours have worked well in the long term.
I jumped the gun previously, thinking that my brakes would need to be done a while back, but the oems are still in service @ 60000 miles.
I haven't looked carefully at the thickness of the pads, but they can't possibly last much longer, I wouldn't think. I can certainly see that the rotors themselves are considerably thinner than when new, as there is a ridge, where the pads miss, that must be .020 on each side.
Do you still feel as you did last year about this pad/rotor combo?

Yikes sorry I missed this.

The long term update is that I still love them and they still are excellent! In fact I love this setup so much I purchased another of the same setup from a forum member who was selling it just to have for when I need it next. As for your concerns about warping/cracking, I can tell you I have zero warping/cracking and as you know I track them as well as use them daily on the street. Treat them right and they will treat you just fine. Again sorry for the incredibly long delay, I missed your post.
