Sounds like your on a mission. I think the fastest a MS3 on this forums has gotten to is 14.1 or 13.9. Heavily modded. Can't remember all that was done to it but it did not have an aftermarket turbo. Don't quote me on those numbers though.

I'm personally hoping to be hitting in the 13's but we will see. OCT. 6th appears to be the last day of Test & Tune for the year. Sucks it rained today. The 29th is skipped cause of some drag school.

Let me know if your going to be there on the 6th. I hope I'm fully tuned by then.

The tires are going to make the biggest difference. I looked on MSF.org and there's only 5 MS3s that have run 12s on the list of official times and 4 of the 5 were on slicks or drag radials. The extra power from all the mods can't help you if all you do is spin the tires.

A friend of mine in Phoenix ran 13.2-13.4 consistently with just a Mazdaspeed intake, motor mounts, HKS SSQ BOV, downpipe, and Nitto NT555R street tires. Of course this was at about 1000ft elevation.

His car also put down 290ish-fwhp/340ish tq uncorrected. He had a factory freak of a motor.

I ran my ms6 bone stock with 101 octane (which hurts performance on the stock tune) and ran like 15.3-15.6 I really don't remember, but it was pathetic.

I went back this year with my stage II tune, but everything went to hell on this day.. car sat in the 100 degree heat all day, sat there running for 45 minutes waiting in line, then botched the launch /end_ricer_excuses, so I don't wanna post the time.

I know for sure that it will take some practice and patience (including time at drags) to dial the MS3 in...but it's possible. At this point I am searching for a good set of wheels and tires that would help out with this mission and hopefully Street Unit will get off their *** and mail me the side engine mounts.

Most people don't mod their car for a fancy dyno sheet (except Supra owners  )

Guess you never saw the Supra from hell ;-)

Nitto NT555Rs are drag radials. Like I said, tires make the biggest difference in a FWD car. They also make you more likely to break something lol.

I might be able to make it to Bandi on the 6th. I'm down to embarrass myself and run a high 14 lol. Hopefully it will be cool that day so it will take longer for me to heatsoak.

Alright, so I guess if everything goes well and people want to drive to Bandimere, we can all meet up on the 6th and go from there.

LOL, it's a joke, I know Supra's can be fast, but MOST owners mod them for a fancy dyno sheet. There was a 900rwhp Supra in Phoenix that would terrorize the streets but run 12's at the track because he couldn't drive for shit and he would just spin the tires.

I also knew Ryan Woon in Phoenix who had a daily driven, 1300rwhp Supra that ran 8's. It was the fastest 6-speed manual Supra in the country, still might be...him and Titan Motorsports keep swapping that record.

The 555R's are technically a drag radial, but they are not even in the same league as slicks (which is what you said). They are a DOT approved tire with a tread that can be run in the rain, so they're not even on the same field as MT ET Streets.

They are a very good tire, much better than the OEM Bridgestone "Pretenders" Mazda choose to equip the MS3 with.

I didn't mean to imply they were the same thing. Obviously they are not. All I was saying is that up here 12s are unlikely on regular summer tires.
