Just an FYI test and tune is not hapening tonight. They have a Drag School according to their calander. I'm sure 6iGuy will be attending.
I take it back. Test and Tune is happening tonight. They must have updated their calander from the last time I checked. They even change the Drag School to say Drag Racing.

GR-8 wrote:Sounds like your on a mission. I think the fastest a MS3 on this forums has gotten to is 14.1 or 13.9. Heavily modded. Can't remember all that was done to it but it did not have an aftermarket turbo. Don't quote me on those numbers though.
I'm personally hoping to be hitting in the 13's but we will see. OCT. 6th appears to be the last day of Test & Tune for the year. Sucks it rained today. The 29th is skipped cause of some drag school.
Let me know if your going to be there on the 6th. I hope I'm fully tuned by then.
I hit a 14.1@102 on my 2009 MS3. Mods were.
Stock K04
Injen Intake
MM Insert
MBC set to 17psi
Home made intercooler sprayer
1st Gen DSM BPV
17X8.5 rims with 235/45-17 Hanhook Ventus V12s
Shifter Bushings
Synthetic Trans oil
Launched it easy then smashed the gas flat foot shifted to 5th. Ran consistent 14.1-14.4 much of the night.
Last time at Bandimere I had a torn rear motor mount and problems with my methanol and ran a best of 14.5.
Additional mods I have put on since then are:
Methanol injection kit
Race Pipe
HyperTech Tune
Front Mounted Intercooler on the way.
I will head back up to bandi at the start of next year and try to get into the 13's which was my original goal with this car. I almost hit 13's with minimal mods but I really think that the K04 turbo is just out of gas above 15 psi at this altitude.
Hmm.. so basically just intake and MBC as power mods and you ran 14.1? Maybe I can get into the 13s after all. I'll bring a helmet just in case, but I'm guessing my driving will keep me from needing it lol.

So who all is going to be there this Wednesday? Will anyone be able to take video? Last time I went to the track my wife took video but she won't be able to come this time.
Also there's a 30% chance of scattered thunderstorms. Hopefully it stays dry at the track.

I won't be making it on Wednesday. So the start of next year. I was gonna run it even with my bad trannsmission. I figured since I lost one second + with the tranny when I was stock (Good Vs. Groinding second) I'd just take one second off my time now and get my "Actual" time. Since the only spot open at the dyno shop was on the 15th of Oct I won't be tuned by Wednesday.
Nice. Do you know what kind of numbers you are making?

My fastest time in the 06 Speed6 was a 13.75. It was a cold night at Bandimere.
I had the following mods which contributed to faster times:
CAI
3 1/4 inch top mount
upgraded fuel pump
MagnaFlow Catback exhaust
BC Coilovers
Carbon Fiber hood
Stock turbo
Standback computer
I found that placing ice bags on the intercooler (while at the track) were detrimental to helping with the heat soak. Make sure that the bags are sealed though, because it will leak water and can burn out your coilpacks.
Also, the carbon fiber hood was a huge help, weighs a ton less, and also helped with the heat soak.
The coilovers had a major impact on improving my overall time by helping my launch significantly.
I will be there this Wednesday racing for the last test n' tune. Perhaps I will see some Mazda members there!

I should probably try this at least once, to see what kind of real numbers I'm sitting on.
If for nothing else, I could see the basic difference between my Cobb tune and what the factory specs run.

Well first run was terrible. 2.7 60' and missed 3rd and 5th. 2nd run went better. 2.4 60' 14.4 @ 101. I was heatsoaked before I even ran once tho with all the idling.175-180 BATs. Parked in the long line with my hood up now so we'll see if I can get the temps down with a little resting.
