Well...I needa start saving for a new turbo...
Yea I wouldn't spend the same amount of money on a reworked stocker as on a true big turbo. I know they have different internals but the points or restriction are still the same aren't they?

Yep...its the turbine side of the housing. Its freakin TINY! So even if you replace the turbine and compressor wheels, the housing is still ultimately the main restriction. Its the same reason why our turbo's crap out at 20psi where as the same turbo on an S4, or even a k03 on a VW is capable of pushing 24psi no problem.

Have to have a dump tube too, heh. Someone tried one run without a dump tube and damn near melted everything in the back of the engine bay.

B5/S4 stock has two K03's, and they're efficiency is done @ 19psi peak, with a taper to 14 @ redline, and that's even pushing it. The Stage 3 upgrade turbo's are K04's and they are within efficiency until 26-28psi and @ 21-23 @ redline, but keep in mind that you're dealing with a 2.7L TT 6 cylinder, not a little four banger. Also, the BW,KKK K04's for the VAG platform are completely different than the one in the MS6/MS3.
Just get the Russian Red and be done with it. It only weighs a minuscule 94lbs, and costs around $55k
