I've got some friends in the Bronco club that may be able do it for cheap if you don't mind it being done by a competent garage mechanic. I'd be happy to put out some feelers if you're interested.

Little bit of everything. Plan on driving it to work pretty often once I get a local job. Driving it to work occasionally while I'm working in Denver. The occasional trip to the track, and the occasional road trip. We're planning on taking it to Tulsa this summer to see what it can do at a track at under 1000' elevation.

LOL, fantastic point! Apparently the new 2011 Mustang GT is almost identical to the new BMW M3 on a road course according to Motor Trend:

^^^Good video! It should also be noted for $25k less than the M3, the Mustang is slightly quicker in the 1/4 mile, pulls a slightly shorter stopping distance & slightly faster figure 8 time.... Bravo Ford!!

Probably mostly drag racing. I may do some road racing if I can come up with the money. It's way more expensive than drag racing, heh. Autocross is a possibility also. Not sure though as it is a big car and I don't know how well I'd be able to avoid cones with it, heh.

Yea, that comparison test was a big factor in my decision. M3 performance for almost half the price!

I actually really like the new Stang... and if I was living in Texas again, I might consider one for a daily driver, but I've owned a RWD car as my only car before, and I just don't feel like driving another around in the snow, yeah, I know, I'm just getting old

Well, that and I didn't want to deal with owning a 2+2 coupe when it comes to putting my son in/taking him out of his car seat. Maybe when he gets a little older and starts riding shotgun daddy can get another coupe... haha!

I really like my TT I6, but would prefer the simplicity of an American V8... I liked the Pontiac G8 GXP (before they cancelled it), and if they would have made that bugger with available AWD, I might have tried to pick one up.

How does that thing compare to your MS3 in the snow?

Oh it does not see the snow. I'm driving my Miata in the snow now, and it is fine as long as I don't try to go too fast. Had my first close call last night on the highway doing about 55. Caught some slush or something which made the front end shift to one side quickly and that's all it took. Started fishtailing and slid sideways off the shoulder to the right (was in the right lane). Luckily I was at a spot where an on-ramp was coming on so I just slid across the unplowed pavement between the main road and the on-ramp. Saved it on the on-ramp and then merged back onto I-25 and continued home, at a much slower speed. I've figured out that 45-50 is about as fast as I can safely go if it's really icy. I was overconfident because a couple weeks ago it was icy and I was doing 65-70 all the way home with no problems. I guess it wasn't as icy that night as I thought.

I really wish I could have kept my MS3 for driving in the snow AND gotten the Mustang, heh.

Circuit track!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's not cheap i'll give you that, but i also wouldn't say it's terribly expensive. With nasa, a one day track session is like $190, and the fun, experience, and learning you get out of that is worth far more! I can tell you from experience driving at full clip on track is fun as hell! Do it! This summer i am going to become a track whore and love every second of it :D

I hope to get up to HPR at least once this summer. I have a friend who is big into nasa racing with his spec Porsche 944 and keeps telling me how great it is. He races at PPIR, PMI, HPR, even into Utah and some other places.

nasa is running HPR twice this summer. Once in March, but sadly i will be in California for the March session :( . But PPIR and PMP i will be at, and of course the second HPR track day. I can't get enough of HPR, it's a lot of fun.

So I was out checking on my Miata today and asked some questions for you. The owner of Mustang Motorsport's said that the 4.10 gears in the Coyote is a good way to go. He stated that the motor likes to rev and that they respond well to the gears. He said that the gears will give you the best seat of you pants feel but did say to stay with the Ford Racing gears because all the other will start to wine. He said $180 for the gears and $310 plus fluid for the install.

Nice, thanks. Wonder if he will give the same $310 price for labor if I bring him gears and fluid instead of buying the gears from him? I can get them for a little cheaper online and can get a good deal on Royal Purple 75w90 fluid if I buy it with the gears too. Did he say how long it would take? If I'm bringing it to Denver I wouldn't be able to just drop it off and go back home until it was done.

PM'd the shops phone number. It's at least worth a call.
