We really need to get our cars on some scales and see what they actually weigh.

On another note if you have a set of walky-talkies (sp?) Bring them. I know Devin and Christi are bringing a set for themselves. I will have my set so I will have one for someone to use. It is a must from past cruises this big. That way no one gets lost and we know if we have all our cars.

With the small cruise we did the day of the tech day it was kinda frustrating being the front and not knowing if we had everyone and no real way to communicate to everyone else what was going on up ahead.

Looks like I will be needing a ride because I do want to come to this. I know there is a chance we will still not have the restaurant open by then so I can make it. Only thing this means is that my money I have in my pocket needs to stretch even longer. So no parts no nothing fun and not much driving. I just put $70 of gas in the Bronco and $20 of that was gone in one day.

So, as we got to talking @ tonight's SB's meet.. we all thought it would be best to go a different route. The route that Jon is talking about isn't as curvy... and the fact that there's moose?... in the road that travels along part ways of the route you've stated.. I think we should listen to Mog's idea that was posted a few pages back, I think.

I've got no objections. Like I've said, I have only had my license for like 7 months, so I don't know the good mointain roads or anything. I know some of the passes are fun to drive, but that can be a reallly long drive. But the closest thing I can find from mog is saying that the grade of the road isn't very steep but it's got some curves and scenery. Are you sure it was mog, or could it have been someone else?

mog1017 wrote:Don't worry about the grade, its not any kind of a mountain road. It just runs along the front range. I used to take it all the time on bike. Its fairly flat but has a couple of curves. Its decent scenery though. Having said that, I'm not for sure what kind of road you all are looking at going on.
If it was just 8's, I'd say lets take the bike route from 470 up 287 to pine, then down to woodland park through Deckers. That would be a fun run, although not for the weak hearted. Come to think about it, we could even take it with everyone, and just go slow. Now THOSE are some good mountain roads with breathtaking views. :)

Here was an idea I threw out there. Let me know what you think. Again, it was JUST an idea.

Yeah I'm just blind. Any chance you could map it out on google maps? Just go enter a starting and ending location to get directions and drag the purple (I think it's purple iirc) route line as desired to get it on whichever roads you want. If you log in to google you can save the route and get a link for it.

I can try but I can't promise anything. You young pups were born with computers in your hands. The first computer i used used cartridges. It was even before 5.25" floppies.

Alright, try this. You can make up the starting an ending points. I did a rough estimate of the Great Indoors as a starting place and there is a walmart just down the street on 8th street from my end point, I just didn't remember where exactly...

I'm up for whatever. As long as there's a gas station in between. Apparently my new mod has killed my gas mileage, unless it was because I was being really heavy footed last night haha.

Sounds awesome to me! I asked you to do it on Google because I was a bit confused by the 287 part of it. I figured you meant 285, but wasn't completely sure! I'm going to update the posts to have that as the route!

Edit: Route has been updated, link in the first post is now the new route.
