Ouch!!
Touche sir, touche.
I would rock a 911 (almost any flavor or chassis in the past ~20 years) or a Cayman in a heartbeat... hell, for a car just to pitch around, I might even rock an old 944.
You win this round sir haha, you got me on that one.

only car in the price range of the listed cars is the boxster and "s" variant. and those things are gutless compared to a boosted miata. especially at this altitude. plus the fact hes looking for a DD so im guessing he wants something other than another 2 seat roadster.
ronin beat me with his post. 944 as a beater would be an awesome car. but a pro made exhaust for one is almost as much as his miata is worth now.. which I have seen he doesnt want to deal with pricy maintenance and mods

LOL, I don't think he was suggesting I buy a Porsche, I think he was insinuating that I might have been mistaken in my statement when I said BMW/Mini were just about the only German cars I was interested in haha! He makes a good point, I do dig Porsche's, even if they are part of the VAG/VW group.
As far as pricey mods/maintenance go, honestly, if my career switch didn't involve a huge pay cut, I wouldn't mind so much. The AP for my BMW lists for $900 (even though I got a sizable discount lol; made a few friends on the E90 boards after I got my own tech sticky over there haha!) and I still paid for it. I would rock a Porsche if I was assured to keep my current salary or more... assuming I could pick it up around the $30k range or less. Maybe in another few years, we'll see.

My parents had 2 boxsters. The first one was a base model first gen. I wasn't impressed with that car at all. The second one was a Boxster S 550special edition. That was a great car and fairly quick. 266 bhp at 6,200 rpm and 229 lb-ft at 4,600 rpm. It was a great car but at almost $65k a little rich for me.

Yea for 65k I'm getting a GT-R or a C6 Z06. Both of which will outperform a Boxster S in a straight line and on a road course.

I'm not sure what I would buy for $65k.... for comfort with a bit of performance, likely an E92 M3 coupe. For a track junkie car, the GT-R & Z06 are the obvious culprits, but I don't know, there's also something appealing about the Porsche Cayman R and the Lotus Exige.... or if you just want a straight track car, the good ole' Ariel Atom.

Honestly, I think that crowd is a tough choice.
