This is car number 6 for me and I've never had a car with a nice fixed up interior interior. Or a car with a nice paint job for that matter. The newest car I've owned is an '87 Taurus Wagon (not including wife's saturn in any of this).

I hear ya, for a ~26-27 year old RX-7, she's a clean car!

Sadly enough, my Miata is my 10th car, and since it's a 1990, it is actually the oldest car I've ever owned.

Now hurry up and get that damn car out to an autoX! LOL :D

I'm planning to shampoo the carpet this weekend. I'm tired of the oil saturated carpets in the car.

The parts are on the way. The shifter suround has been dicontinued on me which really sucks. There is one located at a dealer in VA that I may be ordering soon. Also I have a guy in FL that may be pulling a few parts for me in a junk yard. He's going to look at the shifter suround in the junk yard for me so hopefully that one is in great shape.

The parts will be here today, woo hoo.

I Shampooed the carpets and floor mats on Sunday so I don't have to worry about oil saturated carpets any more. I also picked up RIT dark brown dye to redye the carpets and floor mats. I plan to start with the floor mats and see how they come out.

This weekend will be my big install weekend. I'm going to go to the Saturday morning car show.

I also have a guy from FL sending me a heater vent and shifter suround/boot. That will complete the interior repair.

Nice to see you're keeping this clean :) Frankly, I'm amazed that you were still able to get most of those parts from Mazda. Pretty cool. What'd you use to shampoo the carpet? Some oil spilled in the back of my S2K and I'd really like to do something about that, hah. The FD could use a carpet cleaning too. I figure a rug doctor or whatever that you rent from a grocery store would work fine, but it might not be versatile enough to get at some of the harder to reach areas.

I rented the carpet cleaner from Home Depot. It is a rug doctor with different badges. You have to pay extra for the hose and handheld. Total cost was about $38 with a good size container of solution.

Friday I replaced all the interior bits that I bought. I have a few more interior pieces on the way than that is basically done.

Thanks to help from JerinX, the motor mounts are changed out. We also replaced the crush washers for the oil injectors, belts, and fusable links. Today I replaced the starter and negative battery cable.

I still need to replace the positive batery cable, shifter boot, and rebuild the OMP.

My list is starting to get really small, lol.

I've been thinking more about restomod part of this build. I think I'm going to skip most of it and keep this car more original.

New list:
-Bönez Street Exhaust System
-Hawk HPS pads
-SS Brake lines (already have)
-SS clutch line (already installed)
-Racing Beat Muffler (already installed)
-Eibach Springs (already installed)
-Tokico Illumina Shocks
-Energy Suspension Polyurethane Bushings

Parts I may or may not get:
-Re-Speed Tubular Competition Sway Bar
-Power Slot Brake Rotors

I figure that these parts would improve the car just slightly without changing the original feel of the car.

Thoughts?
