That looks kinda bad. Is there any way you can lower the engine a couple inches in order to clear the stock hood?

What is your compression ratio on that engine? What are you thinking for boost....5-8 psi?

There is nothing I can do but figure out something that would looks the best. For me it is more about the performance and driving experience than how it looks . I am sure that I will figure something out and in the end be happy with it. Trust me, if there was a way to keep it the way it is, I would be all over it. There is no going back now.

The engine compression is stock, 8.5-9 to 1 and have an 8 psi pulley. Everything is pretty much bolted on, just need to figure out the belt. I might post up some pics a bit later.

I have a set of Koni Spot 5 way adjustable shocks & set of Racing Beat lower springs (won't work for you) but woul be willing to let the shocks go for $200 (new they are around $450-500). They only have 5k miles on them and like them but will eventually go with the FM spring/shock setup with V8 springs. Figure I would offer them to you or someone on the boards prior to posting them up on Craigs list. I will probably ask $250 for the shocks and $75 for the springs on CL. Any one else that is interested, let me know.

I think that I'm going with the VMaxx and sways from FM. I've come to trust Keith, and I think that I'll be satisfied with thier setup. Igor was running that combo and that car is very fast on the track.

I fugured but thought I would at least offer. When are planning on imbarking on the suspesion project? Let me know because I will probably go the same rought but probably won't be till spring time. My set up will get me through and have quite a bit to finish up prior to suspension.

Started the car last night and sounds good and am droping the car off tomorrow to have the fuel pump installed and a cold air installed. It will probably be about 3 weeks till she is on the road but hope to tune arround the 14th.

I cant wait to hear that thing! v8 rumble plus supercharger whine should be enough to scare most cars away.

yeah the vmaxx are ok. and I have nothing against kieth. he always sells great products. but they are just rebranded and resprung raceland $250 dollar coilovers.
im sure with the respring they handle great. but im concerened with the longevity. no one has been running them that long. and when you get down to it they are still chinacoilovers (which my spellcheck keeps trying to correct to controversial.. premonition much?) that have very little quality control. and for all kieth knows could be valved different between lots.

my suggestion if you are looking for coilovers and wanting to go inexpensive. konis+ ground controls. or teins you can get for 300 bucks more. or you can spend a bit more and go with fatcat whom custom springs and valves a coil-over shock just for you. on a bilstien body that will outlast your car.
only reason i thowing in my 2 cents is im about to sell off my bilstiens and H&R race springs to upgrade to a coilover. and im still debating as to which.

man looks like i gotta start working harder to keep up to rep the 4cyl turbo's in this miata power race.
i figured i wasnt doing to bad keeping up with yall since i was running low 13's :p but now you are breaking out the big guns.

edit after doing some research from the M-S forums the general consensus from the guys that race alot is "They (the v-maxx)really aren't any better than FM springs on standard shocks except they are height adjustable."

Cars at the shop now and should be ready to tune in about a week. One of the things they are going to do at the shop is install some gauges for me. The gauges were always part of the original build plan and seemed like a good time to do them. I got a nice stainless steel radio and 3 gauge housing for the Miata by DDM and was very impressed with the piece. One the three gauges under the radio I am going with a oil pressure, water temp & voltmeter then have my boost gauge on the A-pillar. Here are some pics of the final install.

New truck? Is that tow hook on there all the time or was it just on there to get it on the trailer?

^ You had me wondering too about the tow hook. Went back a couple pages to the pics from Bandi & HPR and didn't see it on, so I'm thinking that it was just to get it on the trailer.

I got the tow hook at the Fly'n Miata Camp because I had to take off the factory hooks for the body kit and is something you need if you ever break down. I have one in the front and back and will leave them on. I kinda like the look and they even match the car.

No, thats not my truck (I wish!!), I think I have coil out on my truck and a buddy was willing to help me out. That thing is bad ### and would love to own a diesel one day.

Like it or not here is the hood design to clearance the supercharger. I like it and think that once it is smoothed out and painted it will look sweet. I am also considering having some louver style vents cut in towards the back on each side to help keep it cool. I plan on tracking the car quite a bit and need to do what ever I can to keep the temps down.

Looking good man! That truck is cool too, like you I would love to own a turbo diesel. I've always wanted get into turbo diesel tuning and even considered doing it about 1 1/2 years ago when I sold my RX-8 and before I picked up my FD. But I digress...

Do you recommend the machine shop you had do you engine? Do you know if they can do hot tanking/cleaning? Do you have any contact info for them and a go-to person? Sorry for all the questions haha, just looking for a good machine shop in town.
