Blast it all...

I got one. Queen model 5000 series pillow-top. Had it for 5 years. I loved it but my wife grew tired of it. Now she wants a memory foam. So, I'm selling my sleep number bed.

That sounds AWESOME! I love a super soft mattress that I just sink into. We just stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn by the Tulsa Airport and they had an individually adjustable bed in the room and we fell in love with it. You can set it to be super soft and you just sink right in. I don't roll around much while I sleep so it's perfect for me. As it is with our current mattress I have a groove where I sleep, heh.

yeah i didn't like how the memory foam made you feel trapped if you tried to get out or move. it was comfy as long as i was happy in one position. but i tend to move alot in my sleep plus they typically feel hard when its cold. (heated blanket in the winter helps alot) or they keep you kinda warm especially during the summer because it does trap the heat below you.

sleep numbers. i just feel kinda hesitant to purchase a bed with an airpump in it. i mean if it fails its alot less catastrophic than a waterbed. but i can only imagine once you are out of warranty its stupid expensive to repair the mechanical bits. that being said I did love the bed and almost got one untill i saw a pricetag.

my bed now is the simmons beautyrest with pillowtop. the matress with the individually wrapped springs. im a rather light sleeper (ptsd and all) yet when my girl was living with me she could get out of bed and unless she pulled the covers i didn't know unless she closed/opened a door or turned the computer on.
I got the memoryfoam pillowtop. ontop of the already 2" of memoryfoam for a total of about 5" of memoryfoam over the springs. and the plush (soft) springrate and its an amazing bed. it sucks you up. and i sleep amazing. i tried to go on vacation and all i wanted to do by the end was get back to my bed.

I have a futon that I bought about 13 years ago when I was stationed in Vegas. I got it for something to sleep on when I first moved on base, and it came with a futon chair...for $50. It is the BEST thing I've ever slept on. I wish it was a bit larger, my head will touch one armrest and my feet are pressed against the other. If I could find a larger mattress, I'd definitely use it exclusively. It looks like a bunch of shredded newspaper or something inside the mattress...hmmmmm....

When my wife and I first got married all we had was my futon and we slept on that. It wasn't bad until the mattress started to get beat down, then it was awful.

We have a new mattress on it and it's the bed in our spare bedroom now. The new mattress is pretty comfortable, but I never sleep on it cause I have the good bed in our bedroom, hehe.

my wife and i have one of the IKEA memory foam mattresses and i can say that moving them is a bitch as they are heavy as hell. They do take almost 12 hrs to fully set up once you get them initially so plan on getting it in the morning and let it sit out flat all day to solve that problem. We have had ours for about 3 years now and have loved it, much better than the cheap spring mattress we had before.
