Lightweight, still good-looking, reliable, parts still readily available, great handling! This was one of the kings of the roads - back in 1985!
This is a white, five-speed GS model. No sunroof. I replaced the motor, shock absorbers, springs, front brakes, and did a major tune-up and service of motor, transmission, differential, etc.
Car has nice stock-size all-seasons on very nice stock mag wheels. New windshield with no pits or cracks. Body in excellent shape - no dents or dings. Even the front section and hood are great with no rock chips! Passenger door trim is missing and some of the clear coat on the back left is peeling.
Interior got new seats and I have new door panels. Center console kinda messed up but I have some parts. No radio, no airconditioning. 138K on body, has been repainted at least once.
These cars are very special - let me know if you are interested and I'll tell you more about it. I would also sell it without the motor (delivery included) if you want to swap in a 13B, turbo, V8, or built-up motor. (Current motor is stock.) I also have extra parts including a lot of motor parts and an entire 1979 car that is in great shape.
Note: This car will not pass emissions without changing the exhaust manifold! The car is sold "as is" as a car that will not pass emissions.
I think this is because the engine I put in is not from a 1985. Most likely, a 1983 engine. I noticed the oil pressure sender is not where it is on the 1985, for example. The emissions problem is because the exhaust output/manifolds differ. So, the air valve and air injection pump and everything work great but they are trying to pump the air through the engine and into the exhaust but the exhaust holes don't line up. I imagine the right manifold would fix this right up. New catalytic converter and everything, and car runs great. Needless to say, this is frustrating and hurts the value of the car a bunch.
It's on Craigslist for $1,450 but I'd go a bunch lower for someone on this list and I really do want to find good home(s) for all of this stuff.
Or, if you want this very very nice car without the motor, I'll pull it for a race car spare and then deliver the roller to you. It's really a good car.
Thank you,
G-Man
