I'm gonna say for your basic needs, that is probably one of the best deals you will find in terms of the specs you get for the price and it should last a good long time.

Erod's covers it well in his post with a few suggested systems- be sure not to miss the point about connecting a full size keyboard and monitor to a laptop. Another advantage to Newegg is no sales tax- though you need to pay 3% state use tax on your tax return, but that's between you and the state ;)

Brands that do well in several readers surveys: Asus, Lenovo, Sony, Toshiba.
Dell, HP, Gateway, Acer tend to not do as well, but are still ok choices.

Nothing within $90 with those same specs on Newegg, and Newegg has some of the best prices on the interwebs. So I'd say that's a damn good deal.

Nice...

Looked at Costco (that link is for interweb order, I believe) and Best Buy; saw nothing.

Planning to hit microcenter before pulling the trigger on link.

x2 on that Costco deal. That looks like excellent bang for the buck.

On account of the Bronco's amazing win, my microcenter trip has been postponed...

Stay tuned.
