It really doesn't make much sense, but I guess that's what you get for winning a crappy division, lol!

Even worse the 2010 Seahawks 7-9 hosted the 11-5 Saints.

Can almost garauntee somebody would make the argument that an 8-8 record just reflects how tough the conference is...I wouldn't agree with that person.

I was floored when I heard the game wasn't in Pittsburgh. Wish the Bengals would have beat the Ravens.

The NBA righted that ship a few years ago. The better record hosts the game.

Boy, if those guys can get that right, seems like anybody else should be able to.

Just like the Patriots, right?

Yea but in the NBA divisions mean nothing. You're seeded based on record alone. You might as well just do away with divisions altogether and just group people into East and West, or AFC and NFC in the NFL. But then you do away with division rivalries which are a huge part of the game imo. No system will be perfect. I'd rather a lower record division winner host a wild card team (who didn't win their division regardless of their record) than throw away divisions altogether just to have people seeded strictly in order of their record.

The game this weekend is going to be supremely entertaining, but not for Bronco fans.

No tickets for me. Oh well, I'm not terribly disappointed. Now I'll enjoy the game itself.

I love going to baseball games, and even basketball games, but I have never been to a pro football game and don't think I would enjoy it. I've been to Air Force football games and everything is so far away and it's hard to see what's going on. I'd much rather just watch football on TV. Especially because it's the only time of the week that the other games are on too and I like to watch them all at once (or at least 7 of them at once) at my brother-in-law's house.

Playoffs are different of course, since you don't have to miss other games to see the one you're attending, but I'd still rather stay home for football.

It also doesn't help that I hate the Broncos, so going to a game would involve being around thousands of Bronco fans, who I generally dislike even more than the Broncos themselves. No offense intended to anyone here, of course. If I lived closer to the Colts, I'd probably go see at least one game each year.

I never said being there is where it's at, I'm just not as blatantly antisocial. :D I concur that for actually WATCHING the game, home is where it's at. (hockey is another story, I'd much rather be there)

I just don't like when the commentators on TV don't pay attention to what I just got done saying, then repeat it as if it were a novel idea. I must have missed my calling.

Not necessarily true. With 3 divisions, a div winner will only go as low as 4 seed. But if the 5th seed has a better record, the 5th seed will host that first round. After that, your seeding is what counts. They did that because for a number of years, the two top records in the league could come from the same div and they would meet in the second round rather than the conference finals.
